I CRAVE smells! Lol But mine aren't new smells - new car smell for example gives me a headache. I love old smells, worn things. Old, lived-in leather, records, books, clothes... Also when I like a person I love their smell to an extent I can't describe. The weird thing is, I find it gets better towards the end of the day. I like an edge of man-sweat. Not to a gross extent, just back to that natural, lived-in way. I'm always joking that I wish I could "bottle" these scents.
Speaking of smells, does anyone else get "mental smells"? You know, where you can smell something that's not around you... I'm just curious.

New car smell also gives me a headache! And yes, at least I get 'smell hallucinations' sometimes, it's really strange. I would literally smell things that aren't there, like a cigarette (even when I was a kid and I obviously didn't smoke, and almost no-one around me ever smoked...). Or, I remember one time, I was in the car and I swore I smelled cinnamon cookies. Sometimes I would smell unpleasant things that aren't there, too. Nowadays I get it less, but still, very occasionally, I'll smell something that isn't there.

Now on topic: although I hate the smell of new cars, I loooove the smell of new shoes. It is so good, I want to press new shoes against my facce and inhale deeply, it smells amazing! Kerosine, petrol, ether and other weird chemicals also have a pleasant smell. On a somewhat unrelated note: I can't stop myself from eating citric acid.... When I have some citric acid I always end up eating half of it, it tastes amazing hahaha. Marijuana, no doubt there, it just smells amazing on its own (not when mixed with tobacco... yeah people do that here), both smoked and fresh (and in cooking if you don't burn it,, yum). Blood smells and tastes interesting. I like pressing my pet rattie into my face and inhale, he smells good, so do cats, but dogs smell bad. Rolling tobacco when it's not smoked smells awesome. I think these are all my weird answers, of course I also enjoy normal smells.

New clothes. Alabama red clay soil. Domestic cats. Leather. Paper grocery sacks.

I forgot to add latex paint and burning leaves.

I second Auntblabby on new car smell. It is one of my absolute favorite smells. Mmm.

I also love the smell of gasoline (although it's bad for you) and chlorine (the smell of swimming pools).

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

That sweet smelling chemical they put into Port-o-potties to make them smell nice. I love it when trucks hauling groups of Port-o-potties go by, this chemical gives the breeze they create an extremely relaxing scent.

Feliway. For some reason the pheromones in this product (or the ones containing it) seem to put me into a fast near-stupor of being highly relaxed, not because they smell good, but of some weird action on me. It's like you aren't able to be bothered by almost anything, almost like it's saying to your brain 'Everything's OK now, it will be alright.' I use it very rarely, and when I do, it's just for the cat. I don't like sitting around in a stupor for an hour, it takes time from other things.

Dead animals. It's relaxing and exciting, and makes me feel like I want seek out the source of that smell. It's like it says 'prey' and 'dinner.' It's good to smell, although some smell better then others (deer smell nicer then fish.)

The smell of gasoline and the smell of new shoes. I will bury my face in a pair of new shoes.

The smell of the inside of a carved-out pumpkin. It's one of my favorite things, really.

As someone who is used to oil painting, I often enjoy the smell of turpentine. I have yet to find someone who finds turpentine as a pleasant smell instead of unpleasant/obnoxious.
