that happens to me too

That must be really annoying for you. I suspect people treat me differently too, but I don't notice. My wife sometimes tells me that someone has thought something about me that I hadn't picked up on.

Dillogic.....

Jk1, I can vouch for this one - you look like a normal and attractive person to me. :)

^Thanks, Moomingirl. When you live your life being shunned by so many people everywhere, it's hard not to wonder if something may be wrong with your physical appearance. So some reassuring words help a lot. I know what you mean about your being asked for an ID, too.

Although I know most WP members are good people, I wouldn't want the public to see me on the Internet. I only give away certain pieces of information about myself on the forum. So I can't ask random WP members to judge if I look different from "normal" people.

I don't think I have "racoon eyes". I don't know if I have a certain curvature to the tips of some of my fingers. I've never really paid attention to that. I think I do have a biggish head though someone once told me he didn't think I had a big head. But he probably said that because he himself has a rather big head. He is definitely not autistic.

Well my skin somehow both looks pale and tanned at the same time, I have wild hair, I look fairly young with smooth skin and soft hair, I've sort of lanky, and my eyes are like set back. They look sort of pretty when I'm not completely deprived and there is just enough dark beneath them to look like eye shadow.

I have raccoon eyes and a large head.
I tend to look older then I really am, but I think that is the hashimoto's and hypothyroidism because I didn't always look older.

Here is an interesting article about fingers and Autism and other things related to fingers.

The finger ratio is interesting. Someone linked to this last year, which cites another study involving finger length--and other body features--and autism:

http://keithsneuroblog.blogspot.com/201 ... l?spref=fb

Quote:
"Women with ASD had higher total and bioactive testosterone levels, less feminine facial features and a larger head circumference than female controls.

Men in the ASD group were assessed as having less masculine body characteristics and voice quality, and displayed higher (i.e. less masculine) 2D:4D ratios, but similar testosterone levels to controls. Androgynous facial features correlated strongly and positively with autistic traits measured with the Autism-Spectrum Quotient in the total sample."

Autism doesnt have a Physical characteristic but i have found that most autistics i know including myself have "racoon eyes' or just darker under the eyes, my dad, says he sees other kids with aspergers and autism and says i 'look' like them. you think its all in our heads?

I'm pretty sure that autism does have lots of physical characteristics. Personally I think autism has more physical characteristics, then psychological. Most of them are behavioral though. A quick list to name a few.

Myoclonal jerks, sudden muscle movements
Choreiform, jerky and involuntary movements
Poor eye-hand coordination
Limb apraxia, when it is difficult to make certain movements with an arm or leg
Problems with intentional movements
Abnormal gait and posture
Toe walking
Clumsiness
Difficulty with sitting, lying, crawling and/or walking
Difficulty chewing and/or swallowing
Unusual sweating
Abnormal reaction to sensory stimuli
Rashes, dermatitis, eczema and/or itching

"raccoon eyes" does apply to me I suppose.
But I can not say I recall the other autistic kids
I was in a special school with having this feature.
I do have sleep disturbances though so perhaps
that is the reason for it. Also I am extremely pale.

Still happens to me too, I find it disappointing how people won't just talk to me, the person in question about it and are unwilling to help me do something about their concerns yet feel its perfectly acceptable to talk behind my back and even trash talk, sometimes even when they surely know I am likely within earshot.

yes although I haven't really heard others talk trash about me honestly I wouldn't know but people usually just ignore me or talk very little and simply. I very never get into a real social conversation or if I try to the other people around me will act really strange and quickly end the conversation or just talk and ignore my input .
