B19 is a great combination of the autodidact and the out-of-the-Ivory-Tower academic. She's a strong advocate who's also into baking cookies.

Even when she's an Emerita, she'll always be active--like Erik Eriksson in lady form.

NCOT is two acid trips and three shakes of a lamb's tail.

Underneath all that irony lies an earnest, passionate soul.

I read it three times and still have no idea what you mean!
But I'm sure you are right. She is certainly working hard to establish a curmudgeonly identity, so being seen as a sort of bitter and pugnacious person seems to be important to her.

Or maybe I just don't get it. I am impressed with your insights, though.

The acid trips were a reference to how much of a "trip" she is. The lamb's tail is total nonsense.

I find that she's more the type that wants to purge naivete from the ranks of a person's mind. She uses irony and a bit of a scathing manner in an attempt to accomplish this goal. She's more bark and less bite.

I also love you Kraftie. Someone mentioned that they thought that you smelled good too. I agree. When I think of you I "smell" cherry pipe tobacco and a hint of brandy. Relaxing, comforting, and a little sexy.

Thanks, Vicky!

I wish I measured up to that Professorial image! I've always aspired to the suede elbow pads, too!

Vicky is a person who's been through both the "mill" and the "gauntlet" in life--yet perseveres. She wants to estabish a haven for people of an autistic mindset, so they don't have to rely totally upon the "outer society."
She's natural, and evokes a "certain" feeling in me

She is highly sensitive, and has staunch beliefs which she will defend in a joust, regardless of who the king is.

Kraftie, you are a great guy and it's good to keep seeing your compassionate and thoughtful mind at work here.
The little details you recall about many people here are astounding.

(will this thread be used at some future time as evidence of "cliques" on WP???)

No, I would probably put this one into the "mutual back-slapping" category <_<.

Threads like this really aren't my style. It's all suitably huggy-wuggy and "nice". If that's what rocks your boat then fair enough, I suppose. Me, it's like a foreign language to me: obviously missed the memo as a child which said that female aspies are great at copying/mimicking other people.

Anyway kraftie's a cool guy by me. LOL! :D   :D

Guys, tell me if I've done this right. Too many emoticons? Too few? Should I add another LOL!? Am I happy enough? Nice enough? I'm clearly striving for a certain tone here, but don't know if
I have achieved the right blend of likeability and blandness.

Yeah, back slapping sucks, unless you slap really hard.
Face-slapping is much bester.

Who would slap you? I think it would be more entertaining to tickle you.

LOL...I'm not a really a lover of being tickled, either.

One time, I wanted to go to sleep--and my wife started tickling me. I resisted; I made her cry. She bears a grudge for this to this day.

But it is much better than being slapped.
