There is an interesting article <link> on the difference between being Nice and Kind. While I could be wrong, I have the feeling that the above example is more so being Nice than Kind.

Warm and scratchy like a cat?

Being nice is donating used clothes to a charity.

Being kind is realizing that those clothes will fit someone who really needs those clothes and giving it to them.

Well, I'm thinking, maybe, "logical" is as subjective as "common sense".

That being said, I feel I'm pretty logical.

As to "kind": Because I have a tendency to say things, straight-up, I have, at times, been considered, UNkind.

I would agree that over-emphasis on logic leads, at times, to a perception of unkindness.

Well, very interesting, but you didn't typed anything useful to this topic.

I feel that my contribution is very useful. I can't elaborate like most of the people here. I guess that's a sign of my lack of logic.

I think the guy who made those comments was trying to pull our collective legs.

Be that as it may Kraftie, I can't really afford to abandon my frigid calculating nature. I need the technical work and my friends are pretty cool with the idea that I'm already part machine.

More like abrasive & caring all at once, although my cat fits this profile perfectly.

asperger = logic and kind ?

well im wondering..... since.. i am wondering.....

I am A earth angel .... or is it just that im logic and kind since i got asperger ?

From what I read, Aspergers is effectively a deficit in understanding social cues/non-verbal behaviour, and severely restricted routines. That's barely a fraction of what might constitute a person.

Take for instance the girl on 'Tourettes Camp'. She was officially diagnosed with Aspergers and yet seemed to have no trouble making friends.
A guy I met with aspergers seemed ok, but was just very bad academically.

And that's why I've come to realise that medical treatment can only go so far. The rest is getting to know the person underneath the disorder

Us Aspies tend to be fairly logical but we tend to lack common sense which is often mistaken for logic. Kindness is more about how a person is perceived rather than intent. A lot of us Aspies have problems with how NTs interpret us so we are often judged as not being kind & other mean things when we care deeply & have the opposite intent.

Somehow I always had the impression that "nice" people are more introverted. You know they don't hurt anyone and don't say much. "Kind" people are more extroverted. They talk to everyone and actively try to do or say something to make you feel better. Of course what do I know? English isn't my first language. :D

Don't know about that other one. :P

Answer with something useful for this topic...

{Dill translate for hard of hearing}

I'm logical by default. I'm emotionally ret*d when sedated or drunk; this would make sense if I'm emotionally immature as is speculated of those with an ASD, and I revert back to an emotional state when inebriated.

I'm unsure if I'm kind or not.

I think as a whole, aspies are more kinder than nts, because i posted in nt forums questins like, a kill or a non-kill trap for a mouse, and the aspies were much more toward the non kill approach than nts.

also, it seems aspies are more supporting of each other and show more compassion to others suffering. but that depends on the individual. i meant as a whole.
