It was actually more of a joke than anything. I was kind of picking on the op in the other thread by gender flipping it.

I was going to do a thread reversing this, but I was reluctant in case it might have offended somebody or aggravated people, not that I think it would but I was just worrying of what other people would think. Often I make a thread and wish I hadn't. But I'm glad somebody else made this thread instead of me.

OK, my criticism doesn't really apply to you then.

I don't feel like posting pictures outside of the members-only section, but I did post a couple there recently in the Post a Pic thread.

If I'm being honest I'd say I think have slightly better than average looks, but I'm probably more "cute" than "hot" considering how often people (mainly my aunts and mothers of friends) have told me how good-looking/cute I am (the most recent being a couple weeks ago). One of my aunts actually pinched my cheeks (and that was only a few months ago).

Plus, most girls that have liked me before are several years younger, and they actually thought I was only a bit older than them.

But you seem to be expecting that as you get older, if you're not already married off by then, you'll become desperate and so will be forced to lower your standards. I think it's less depressing to see it as learning to adapt your standards to something more relevent to a real-life relationship.

Having said that, I never felt looks to be all that important, even when I was a teenager, as most girls were visually attractive enough to interest me. I became more and more picky about personality traits once I realised that most women weren't right for me in that regard.

Some do but a good percentage don't. Women are also very social and if you have trouble talking to women and you're not that attractive, its a double whammy.

I think if I gave a crap about my appearance I could actually be decent good looking.

Here I am.

I couldn't get good lighting so I just pulled this one from somewhere else and cropped out my head... although my hair is a lot longer now than it was in that picture.

The thing is that overall, my hygiene isn't really as good as it should be. I just shaved for the first time in like a week because I was too forgetful or lazy or whatever. I pretty much never brush my hair or anything. And I'm 100% sure that 99% of my waking hours have been spent wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and some sort of sweater or hoodie. Very boring and unchanging. I would guess that even my demeanor is unattractive. I don't really smile or look at people etc.

Maybe I should put more effort into external perceptions but I really just don't care.

I'm a hot guy when it's hot outside. In the winter I'm a cold guy. In spring and fall I'm a cool guy.
