This sounds a little bit like defeatism, but if you are unable to beat your disease, then the only thing left to do is pain management; that is, learning to live with the pain. I've got a debilitating back condition which is causing severe sciatica. At the moment I'm trying to lose weight to ease the pressure on the spine. I don't think I'll ever get off the medication I'm on, so I think I just have to learn to live with the pain and adjust to a different way of living my life.

Really feel for your situation. Said earlier that you should divorce your husband. However, if the cause of your husband's comments to you were caused by your husband's depression, then maybe there is reason to salvage your marriage. I still wouldn't return to him unless his housemate vacates the house.

What is the disease you're afflicted by & researching treatments for?

Sorry to reply to a possibly dead thread. I just wanted to say that I hope things worked out for you and that you are in a better place.
