Does that mean you think religion can be a positive influence on society but you don't actually believe what it claims about God?

If Jesus suffered from depersonalization disorder he might be agnostic then.

The nearest thing I have to a belief in a god is "scientific pantheism". That is I reveer the universe for what it is. I feel if you base your premise on the view that God is the principles behind the creation of the universe and the universe is self perpetuated through the laws of physics then the laws of physics is god. A morally neutral and abstract mathematical god rather the fuzzy wuzzie or punitive pago/christian personal gods like Jehovah or Zeus.

I can see that.
Or an enlightened one's saying.
But all it really is
is truth.

Which is to say
that there is power
in religion
with or without God

I believe that this is the problem for most atheists. The "without God" part.

Really, I'd think that most atheists would rather approve of that part.

I personally think that religion is one of the world's biggest problems. As for a higher power, I am inclined to say that I don't believe in one, but then there are things that all the logic and science in the world cannot yet explain. I'm not 100% sure where I stand, but I know that I don't want to be associated with any form of religion.

I guess I'm in the same boat as Demonic_Duck.

Worse than that: are provably unable to explain. Take a look at the incompleteness theorem.

I believe in Jesus but i don't go to church all that much cause i can't stand to be packed in the pews like sardines. I don't talk about it much on here either, becaue ppl will put you down and say you are dumb and stupid because you believe in god.

I think that it's that fact that Athiests believe that none of its true, yet it has so much power which irks a lot of them. Me included. I am not against religion as a way of life, but totally against it as a political/power movement. The individual does not bother me, but the group does.

I saw a poll yesturday in which only 3% of Americans are atheist. So if the trend holds here of 50% aspies being atheist and aspie are at most 1.5% the US population that translated that 1 in 4 athiest are aspies.
