I'm crying just reading this. I'm so sorry you went through that and with no real friends or family. No one should experience death by themselves - especially a loved one or pet. I would have went with you.

Aw nurseangela, that's so sweet of you -- thank you for that.

In a twisted way, it was good that this crisis showed up what was missing in that relationship. His refusal was kind of just what I needed to make me see that this was a pretty empty connection this guy had with me, and to cut the cord finally.

I too wish I'd been there for you. Because I know what it's like. My Prince (my first cat ever, my family, my friend, my life) died 2 years ago.

I remember the day I had my eureka moment with my ex husband: I looked at him and said, surprised: "I suddenly see you like Las Vegas in daylight". I filed for divorce a few days later.

Oh I love that line! Vegas in daylight! :lmao: I know just what you mean.

I'm so sorry about your cat, Moondust. When you love a great pet who was the world to you, that animal is no different from family, a friend, a furry child, a buddy. RIP Prince.
