Does anyone know of a autism forum that lets you post?
I fill in captcha, it sends me back to my reply, I paste my reply... and the cycle continues.
Sometimes after several tries it goes through.
Makes me upset.
Dont just do an actual copy-paste. Instead simply hit back on your browser twice, which brings up the complete original thing you'd typed, and then immediately submit again and do another useless braindead captcha. It should go through that second time. No pasting involved, or copying for that matter.
Good ol' Cloudflare, causing trouble for everyone. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd be very, VERY entertained and satisfied if the company behind it were to crash and burn like they rightfully should at this point. I already know full well that this is definitely not the only Derpflare-infected forum where users are CONSTANTLY angered and annoyed by the wonderful "service" it provides.

Ah, Cloudflare. They are the problem - it seems that they do this captcha thing on WP's behalf and of other websites?
Do they get well paid for this dubious service?
So all Alex would have to do is change the settings and leave Cloudflare out in the cold and out of the equation?

The problem is administrative. Mods unluckily don't have the tools to fix this gremlin. I wish we did.
Not long ago I was sent in endless circles of captcha and having to tick off little pictures with trucks or grass until I realized it was never gonna work because my post with the quotes as evidence / backup, were too long and the robotic system would never let it pass.
Alex's posts are always short so he's unlikely to encounter the problem himself. He is aware of it as messages have been sent to him in this regard.
I'm famous or maybe notorious for making short posts. But that has not seemed to help me any. But my point is of course is that if he had to deal with this like we do, it would not exist.
I am aware of the staff's situation in the matter in this going way back after talking to TallyMan who resigned in frustration and I really miss him. So I'm definitely not blaming the staff. I know you all are in the same boat as the rest of us.
I know a thread like this is not exactly appreciated, but it helps to be able to vent.

You'd think that the frequency of threads like this would, you know, alert the higherups to the fact that maybe... just MAYBE... this service they're paying for might not be all that good. Or any good at all.
Threads like this are frankly the only way to get the message across in most forums. Of course the people in charge have to be listening...

Unfortunately there's only one single higher up person who can make any kind of changes.
Beta-testing is a web-site's friend. Since this site is currently unfriendly, it seems that we skipped from idea to existence without testing.

This would be a good feature, since most of us rant on here.

Please explain beta testing in a nutshell for those who only know beta-carotene?

Ohh, if only beta-testing were as good for humans as beta-carotene! Hehe.
To tie both concepts together, Steve Jobs became somewhat addicted to eating carrots during the development of the first 128K Macintosh computer. While he beta-tested his computer, he overplayed his intake of beta-carotene and caused his skin to turn orange.

It may be coincidence, but if I remember right, the site got quite buggy around the same time as I first noticed Cloudflare here. And if you google "I hate cloudflare," it's clear we're not the only ones it has smitten with captchas. There's also a page out there explaining how to divorce it, because they don't make it too easy. Cloud used to be such a nice word.
Beta testing is the testing done after all the parts have been individually tested (unit testing) and they've been put together and tested (integration testing) and testing has been done to make sure to some degree that old problems didn't get brought back somehow (regression testing). Think of it as the testing done when you are almost sure it's ready for release, so it gets tested by a small group of testers in the real world.
By the way, I've now cleared the cookies and browser cache on three devices and all work perfectly. I rarely if ever get Captcha'd and when I do it's just a simple "I am not a robot" checkbox, then it posts. I wish someone would confirm that this works for them as well? If it does, there is nothing more the website (WP or cloudflare) can do as it would indicate they've made changes to fix the problem but users browsers are still using the older code locally.
Is cloudflare only utilized for it's anti-spam - cause that seems like overkill to an extreme. It's original purpose was to ensure website availability even when a ton of users hit the servers at once, by caching (@cloudflare) any static page elements.

Thank you!
Cloudflare has done nothing to prevent the astrological spam which has been appearing ad nauseum mostly in the GAD thread and has to be removed by one of us mods almost daily and sometimes several times a day as the bots keep multiplying as new users and loading their spam.
Thus it is actually serving almost no purpose here and should be banished to Cloud City!

Just trying it now. I've cleared all cookies and the cache in History (Firefox) - I presume that's the "browser cache" you're referring to? - I'll post again after this if it works. Up until now Cloudflare has just got worse and worse, I'd seen no sign of it when I first saw this thread, then it was the occasional "I'm human" box, now it's that and a picture puzzle, pretty much every time I post. The only thing that's helped so far is to post short tweets rather than long posts, and even that's not infallible.

That's the thing. It seems just veteran users who are being slowed down or stopped, not the bots. That and you all are still left with having to clean it all out and also have complaints from users. It all sucks so much.
Here is the infallible set of keystrokes that always work for me.
1. You click submit post, and you get the captcha thing.
2. Do a screen-back command, either on your browser, or using Alt-left arrow.
3. Put your cursor in your message. It will contain everything you typed.
4. Click Ctrl-A. (select All)
5. Click Ctrl-C. (Copy)
6. Click submit post.
7. Either it sails through, or it requires you to use the captcha feature.
8. If it's the latter, do the captcha, then put your cursor in the message area, and drag it to highlight everything. (You can do another Ctrl-A and "Delete" if you'd prefer.)
9. Click Ctrl-V to paste your message.
You're welcome.
