Yeah BigMouth, the recyclables mentioned earlier in the thread would be less destructive, probably not as fun for many of the people who use these rooms. Perhaps broken electronics at least. :)

AuntBlabby, I tend to say or express how I feel right then and there, the more angry I get. If my fear of consequences is greater than my anger, or if I have a moment of clear thought, I hold off or I calm down a bit. Otherwise, the world knows I'm mad, which is often not a good thing. As the initial burst of anger passes, then I start to make more rational choices about what to say and how to say it. Also, exercise helps get out angry energy.

I used to collect working computers and parts from an e-recycle pile all the time, as well as other goodies. I acquired quite a collection this way. :P

Seeing this thread, all I can think of is this online game I found where you get to smash a computer. Here it is if anyone's interested. :P http://stressreliefpig.com/games/aggres ... puter.html

This would have sounded terrible to me about a month ago. I just started meditating, so I get very angry after meditation sessions. I know you're probably thinking, "Isn't meditation supposed to make you feel peaceful?" It just so happens that anger is common in the beginning because your body is purging itself of the negative energy. It needs a release. And it seems like this kind of thing would be a wonderful release for that. I want to try it.

Like I said, it's not uncommon for working electronics to be thrown out, often because they're "too old" or there's a minor problem that the previous owner doesn't know how to fix (e.g. a computer with a dead hard disk).

That makes sense if meditation helps you focus on your feelings. What do you do when the anger comes up during meditation? Do progressive relaxation techniques or guided imagery or mantras help you focus away from the anger? Are you going to start imagining yourself beating up inanimate objects after reading this thread? LOL jk.

Ahaha! I don't have an issue with anger while I'm mediating. I've only had positive thoughts, or none at all. The anger begins to surface minutes to hours AFTER I meditate. I've tried stimming excessively, exercizing, and play wrestling my toddler so far to get the anger out and none of it is angry enough. Grrr. haha.

I prefer something more productive like chopping old wooden products into firewood or doing the small demolition projects when remodeling.

do you prefer to call that "creative destruction" or "destructive creativity"?

"Creative destruction" sounds more appropriate. :D

Let me get this straight: you're saying that you feel more angry on the days that you meditate? BTW I think it's awesome that you've been able to think mostly positive thoughts or even none at all when you meditate. If that's the case, what happens when you meditate, or do deep breathing exercises, in the midst of anger?
