Most of the time I don't.

But if they do it doesn't matter. They don't do it to me much so I can understand it would be annoying if they did.

I really hate this too-especially people to my side or behind me.

I know I've been really upset when people do this to me at a movie theater. I've gotten up and moved before, and wondered why *I* had to be the one moving, when I was there first!

That's one of the reasons I try to get to movies ahead of time, try to go when there aren't big crowds, and lately just avoid them completely most of the time.

Whenever something like this bothers me, I just tell myself that it is nothing to get bothered over. So someone runs next to you? What does that mean? Someone is running next to you. Nothing more, unless the other person gives you reason to think otherwise. So far, they haven't said anything to you, so anything else is just a guess.

You don't understand...they're in my SPACE. Their aura is touching my aura and it's messing up mine!! ! They're also in my line of vision and distract me. And worst of all, some of them don't wear deoderant....

If I ever moved in such a situation (I don't like people where I can't see them, but can tolerate it) I would most likely rationalise my movement rather than theres as my feeling towards it is irrational, and thus my problem.

Don't you just hate it when you're in the supermarket, quietly perusing the shelves to find what you need, and out of the corner of your eye you can see someone sidling up to you, getting closer and closer and closer, until they are RIGHT THERE next to you, practically touching you, even though there's no-one else there in the aisle........ :x

I guess I don't see it as irrational. If the theater has tons of empty space, I don't expect people I don't know to get super close.

I'm likely to purposly push people out of my way (even elderly people) if I can't get away from them in time. But usualy I'm often able to get away. Some people need to be pushed to get the message. As in the case of those stupid people who like to chit chat in doorways of places.

I don't have any problems when someone sits next to me.
It does give me an extra 'stress' factor and something i have to pay attention to but (imho) it's something i need to be able to 'sustain' without any problems.
I feel like a quitter when i prohibit people from sitting next to me because i refuse to take up the challenge.

I hate restaurants where the tables are too close together, and you feel like you're having dinner with complete strangers who won't stop staring at you and listening to your conversation.
I went to an overly friendly grocery store last weekend. All the worker bees were buzzing around demanding to know how I was or if I needed anything. Seven different people asked me the same questions in 10 minutes. It freaked me out and I had to leave!
Also, for some reason old people stop me every time I go shopping anywhere and want to talk or get me to help them with something.

ugh, that's the worst-especially when they inch closer in check out lines. As if their cart being parked in my backside is going to make the whole line move faster... It also bugs me to be needing something at the end of an aisle (I search for clear aisles before going down them) and someone happens to wander in a little faster than I do, and parks their cart sideways going across it, or it's them and their 5 kids taking up the entire aisle. I really can't stand when someone stops moving dead in front of you for absolutely no reason, or to chit chat with someone :( I always walk through the next aisle that is clear and come up on the other side-by the time I get there, they have moved, lol.

I hate when people get too close to me, especially if they have body odor. I'm very sensitive to smells.

I hate it. People often seem to slow down to think for a moment just as they walk past me.
Every now and then when I stand by the wall in the hallway waiting for class to start, someone else who is waiting for class obviously doesn't realize I'm there, and stands right in front of me. Seriously, if my hand twitches I might touch them. If I sway a little I would absolutely touch them. That is TOO adverbially close!

And when someone sits next to me, which I am glad rarely happens, I can't bring myself to look in that direction. It feels like I just can not turn my neck freely, so I look the other way and pray they'll go away. There is often nowhere to escape in this situation.

Does this happen to anyone else? I'm at the gym on the treadmill. I take the one at the end so I won't be near anyone. There are at least 12 other free treadmills around me. Someone walks in, walks past the 12 free treadmills....and gets on the treadmill NEXT TO ME! Same thing happens on the train when there are 50 free seats, or at the cinema. I don't want a stranger so close to me but for some bizarre reason strangers will almost go out of their way to do something next to me. I generally get off the treadmill and move to something else but on the train or whatever it's not always possible (without looking like an antisocial freak). Anyone else have this problem?!

I don't like this either. If, for example I am on the train and all other seats are taken, then I accept that someone will have to sit next to me. But I don't understand why people do it when they can go elsewhere. I find it quite threatening (I know it is not necessarily meant in this way, but threatened is how it makes me feel.)
