Much more professional TV personalities than the Yakima/Tri-Cities market. Steve Pool just celebrated 40 years at KOMO-4. Yakima may be much warmer than Seattle, and look "brown" to any outsider, but there are nice parts of Yakima. Places like Terrace Heights, West Valley and Cowiche are great areas to live.

are those nice places also more expensive than the others? I am very curious as to what brought you to Yakima? did you ever watch KING-5? what did you think of jeff renner? I always thought his sonorous bass voice was hypnotic. I heard Yakima had a terrible gang problem, can you tell me anything about that?

I've stayed over at a great uncle's house in Kennewick. I liked how quiet and rural it was.

I am not from Washington but I live right close to it I can see it from my car when I take my son to school. That is how close we are to the state.

I have a cousin who, (I think) is still at University of Washington. I'd call my cousin and his wife (her parents), but they're missionaries for the Presbyterian Church, and are currently serving in Serbia (which is her mother's home country).

...In what sense is he a missionary in predominantly Christian (Catholic ? Have to rush this out .) , IIRC , Serbia ? (I'm reminded of the bad stuff that happened in 1990s former-Yugoslavia :( .)

I always thought the Serbs were Muslim. I could be wrong (and usually am).

Serbs are Christian, and write in the Cyrillic alphabet.

Bosnians are Muslims, and write in the Roman alphabet.

There's a "Keep Portland Weird" campaign. I don't think there's such a campaign for Seattle.

...I'm not sure what the template/originator for all these is , but there was/is a " Keep Austin Weird " camaign/sticker as well...and a " Keep Santa Cruz Weird " one ~ which came under some - uh , weird  - criticism a few years back when there were two Santa Cruz police officers killed in the line of duty - It got national coverage , do you remember it ? - by a creep they were going to arrest .
This was somehow turned by some SC respectables into a viral that being nice to the homeless was to blame for this (Note: the extremely bad person who did the cop killing killed them AT HIS HOUSE/APARTMENT , where the police people had come to arrest him .) , like the Santa Cruz Shit- uh , Sentinel referring to the killer as a " transient " and morphiong that into the phrase " transient " for an HL , or similar .

It seems like in the greater Seattle area that you must own a little dog and take it for frequent walks, is an unwritten rule.
I've never seen so many people out all the time with little dogs all the time before.
