I don't know. I don't tend to sit by people who are already sat down. If I did though and the suddenly got up to leave I'd probably ask them what's up. I've learnt that sometimes you can say things but as long as you smile while doing so people won't mind. Such as if they left straight away I might say 'I don't smell do I?' And then grin but only if I'm confident. Saying that though I don't know what would happen next because I've never actually tried that.
I've noticed that's how customers at my job talk sometimes,

I've thought about asking before but assumed i'd look desperate so didn't bother.

It's better etiquette, to excuse yourself and ask whether the seat is taken.

There is no other reason than rote habit.

You can also, probably drive without the street signs.

It's not a law of physics. I doesn't make you a better person.

It's just a rule, that makes everything more routine and predictable.

Hmm. I don't think you would seem desperate if you are don't appear too needy. I'm not sure how to explain thst but I think I might try tommorow to talk to someone and I'll tell how it goes lol. Also I think because I'm female people won't think I'm desperate but idk. I think social skills are something all aspies could pick up if you want to; but if you have sensory issues or extra issues it might be more difficult. I just think we need a lot of extra practice to make it stick since its not natural like with NTS. What do you guys think?
