Are any other aspies Wiccan?
Don't take this too personally, but I have a hard time taking wicca as a legit religion.... It claims to be "alternative", but really there is nothing alternative about it. It's the same mythological fairy tale bs like any other mainstream religion, and from what I've seen many of their followers have the same elitists "my s**t don't stink" attitude as any christian fundamentalist extremist.
Furthermore just from what I've noticed, the majority of the "followers" don't really treat it as a religion so much as a fashion trend, here today and gone tommarrow. Once they've had their fun with it they convert back to Christianity or whatever they believed prior to "rebelling".
Honestly I think once laveyan satanism started to pick up, the mainstream created "wicca" as a "compromise" to keep people from accepting an ideology that would set their minds free. Note I'm not a satanist either (but I did start out as one). Wicca is to religion what nu metal is to rock, a false alternative packaged for the lowest common denominator (people who THINK theyr free thinkers because they follow an "alternative" label, kinda like pc liberals).
I don't mean this to be offensive though, it's just how I see things. I'm not gonna judge you on what you believe, because honestly like atleast 75% of society believes in something irrational and illogical as all hell and there's no since cancelling all those people out because I feel I could still get along with them and focus on other subjects.
I've looked into Wicca, have some books on it, but like all religions, it turned me off because off the ritual part.
But I will say that it is the closest religion to my beliefs than anything else that I've come across.
As far as the Reiki...My mother is one of the original 22 masters on the North American continent, and I have been a Reiki Master for 23 years.
Because I grew up with it, I took it as a given, but later I questioned it, as I did religion and all things spiritual.
I did much research into it, and am satisfied with the results.
Reiki is a healing process based on the laws of physics.
Energy moves constantly from one place to the next.
In us humans, most of our energy is released from the tops of our heads (this is why wearing a hat on a cold day keeps us warm).
The next is our feet, and in third place is our hands.
Hands, being the most practical, are therefore used to transfer this energy to another person in the form of heat.
Heat is calming and the muscles relax, allowing any injuries a better chance of healing themselves.
These are the factual aspects of Reiki.
There may be other things at play in this process of which I do not yet understand, and maybe never will.
I know that I feel better after a treatment.
People who add a spiritual aspect to Reiki are destroying it.
Reiki is something that everyone has naturally.
To add rituals and crystals and conditions to it are ridiculous.
My mother was taught it as a medical treatment, with no spiritual or fantastic ideas surrounding it, and teaches it as such.
She has her own spiritual and fantastic ideas, but doesn't connect them to Reiki.
Sorry...ranting a bit here...but it angers me to see this turn into some wishy-washy new age fad.
I don't practice Reiki much, because I don't like touching others...
But it's a good thing to have.

Unlike religion, which is indoctrinated with certain rituals, the multitude of Wiccans out there practice whatever feels right or is intuitive. It does not try to be a religion - the last thing the world needs is more of it. It is a spirituality and doesn't try to be anything else. It is about being close to and understanding nature and people will do whatever feels right to them as a ritual in many cases, something completely different, e.g. meditation - or nothing at all.
There ARE certain standard rituals in more organised form of it and there is theory to them. If you look at a lot of religions, many rituals are passed down and practised but people can't say why. Within Wicca, every ritual has a purpose. If you are going to talk about it, please read previous posts and please make reference to something specific as opposed to vague 'wishy-washy' criticisms.
I agree with the alternative label and have educated some people on what they think of as Wiccan (college girls with died hair and scruffy clothes that smoke and watch Charmed and describe themselves as Wiccan/alternative) as in fact being stupid college girls that don't have a clue.
RE Reiki, I feel quite the same. It is for this reason that I believe exactly what I beleive about Wicca and do not practice any particular rituals (the wife does because she wishes to cause something) at this time. Many books out there can tell you that Wicca is all about quantum physics.
