I rode my bike through a crime scene once. One day, I was out riding my bike and saw what I thought was a construction site. So I thought I'd be adventurous and check it out. I noticed a bunch of yellow tape around, but thought nothing of it. Somehow, I got around the yellow tape and onto a sidewalk, where I saw ahead of me, a white bed sheet with these two feet sticking out. As I got closer, I realized that I was looking at a dead body. So I just casually rode my bike around it and didn't see the puddle of blood next to the bed sheet until it was too late. I rode my bike right over the puddle of blood. After I realized what I just ran over, I stopped and noticed the guy's blood on my tires. That really freaked me out, as you can imagine. So then I rode my bike over to Target where I worked, grabbed the hose from the garden center and tried to rinse off the blood. It wasn't very effective. Oh, and I was high on Dramamine when all this happened, so I'm not sure if autism had anything to do with it; maybe partially. I've also ran over wet cement and dog poop on my bike before, too.

One time when I was 13 going on 14, my family had some company over. A man, woman and their late teenage daughter. Anyways the husband, the wife, my mum and I decided to go for a bike ride after supper. The man tried to pop a wheelie on my sister's 10-Speed bike and he fell off the back of it and scraped himself very badly. When the 4 of us returned home, my mum was in the bathroom putting peroxide on the man's scrapes and my dad asked, "What are you two doing in there?" I yelled, "They're having sexual intercourse!" My dad looked at me and said, "We'll talk about this tomorrow."

When I was about 6 my parents left a razor in the bathroom and I sliced my thumb to see what would happen. The pain didn't bother me but there was blood everywhere. I managed to clean it up without anyone noticing.

When I was about 7 or 8 I did exactly the same thing. But it was too deep with too much bleeding to escape notice.

I was 6. My mother was cutting a door-shaped hole into a big cardboard box for me to play in, when suddenly the phone rang. She told me "don't touch this knife," then set it on the table next to me. I waited as she chatted for a while, but then I grabbed the knife, misjudged how easily it would go through the cardboard, and lodged it about an inch into my upper thigh. I think the pressure I put on the wound to hide it from my mother stopped the bleeding. I was so afraid of getting into trouble that I didn't tell anyone about that for years. I remember my thigh was so sore as it was healing up.

So I guess this isn't uncommon for Aspie children.
