Vegan cat food is just an idiotic concept, and people who swear by it are just in denial about the fact they are slowly killing their cats.
I know litter box training isn't easy, I volunteered in a cat shelter for quite some time, and I've pretty much seen it all. Diarrhea smeared on walls, litter spewed everywhere, there was even a cat who would sit in its tray nearly all the time and not respond to anyone or anything as it had been heavily abused before being rescued.
Sometimes its due to the type of litter tray (some prefer covered, others don't) or the amount of litter (cats like to hide their business, and if there's not enough in the tray then they can panic and start scraping the litter out frantically trying to bury it).
Chances are it went to look for somewhere that was warm, a place where they could be petted, and had decent food.

Total agreement. There are no meetups or support near me, but this site fills that gap more than I could ever have imagined

These kitties are roughly the same color as my childhood kitty-mom, but my little brown girl had a bit more white on her chest and also had white toes and tabby points (she was not show quality and I sure didn't care - I found her as a stray kitten), When she was thinking about something she looked like a little mountain lion.

That cat had been around for years, and nobody else would have it in.
Feeding anything flesh is a crime against nature, and you won't change my mind on that.

I don't think you have a good grasp on how nature works, but if you refuse to be open to facts, then I guess I won't waste either of our time. If you ever are interested in learning how it works though, there's a lot of good scientific resources online.

Every year, I have to endure many days when the air outside my house is filled with the panicked cries of cattle on their way to become cat food, etc. My friend Don has rescued a few of them, and when they got loose, they would come up to his house to visit, to the amazement of his neighbours, who averaged a lost day every time their fence went down. All domestic animals make fine pets if you have the space and time for them. When I ride my bike, cows are friendly and curious, except the herd nearest the auction yard, who panic around people. They would not even be domesticated if humans had not, as mammals will, reared their orphaned young after a hunt. To eat one in anything but a dire emergency is inhumane, and unhealthy as well. Meat was the health food of the stone age, before we had trade and pottery. Now, vegans are overrepresented at the Olympics and Underrepresented at the Hospital and Morgue. The keeping of cats was sometimes endearing, but it belonged to an era when humans had not become as locusts upon the earth and kicked off the sixth great extinction. You can read about that on the 'net, too.
So you're referring to the livestock issue, not nature where carnivorous animals are in fact biologically geared for meat consumption, then?
Your statement was very general so it sounded to me like you meant it generally, not specific to farm culture.

I really love cats, but yeah kind of sad because there were four cats at my moms house and they moved to another house, but one of the cats(my favorite) disappeared a bit before the move, and has not turned up at all. I keep having dreams about him....he was just such a great cat but now I have to accept I may never see him again. I just wish I knew if he was dead or maybe wandered to some other peoples house and became their cat just to have closure, I have thought of having my own sort of 'funeral' for him but doesn't feel quite right because I don't know that he's dead...just gone.

Abyssinians are such perfectly elegant creatures, they're a joy to behold.
My little Bengal cross was a stray as well. I know many people prefer purebred cats, but I couldn't call myself a good person if I turned my back on a kitten in need of a home and some love.

True, cats do need meat...I remember a while back I had to get my mom to change cat food, because one of the cats was underweight and throwing up a lot, so I convinced her to start getting the sort of cat food that is all meat without additives, and that seemed to help him. I had a cat in the past who was fine with and even preferred that Iams pet food like he would not eat any other kind whenever we tried to give him something different he just refused it he lived 14 or 15 years and then disappeared I mean I kind of figure it was getting close to the end and I could never picture having him put down for health issues, so i think he probably went off to die I mean that seems most like his demeanor...but this other cat couldn't handle the additives in that kind of food...so I convinced my mom to get better cat food for him.

I love cats. I have two rescue cats who I spend a lot of my time with. They're probably my best friends, to be honest. I find being around them comfort and relaxing, I even talk and sing to them.
I know all the local cats better than I know the local people, which should probably be a bit embarrassing. The only problem is I find it upsetting when I don't get to see a cat any more. I found out yesterday that I'm not going to be able to see my friend's cats any more (they're going to live with her ex) which made me really sad. Also, two cats I regularly see at work will be moving away soon and I'm going to miss them

I like to see my neighbors' cats. I also like to see the stray cats that live at one of the local parks. I love to visit my brother's cats as well.
