I want to be, even did dance lesson videos, but I have zero rhythm and feel like I'm acting as a "dancer"

I was the first person to dance "the Twist" in Franquelin, PQ. The Jive was far too complex for me to follow, but the Twist I could manage.
A lot of modern dance looks to me like cyborgs in distress.

I love to dance and got pretty good at it. I miss it when I think about it, but this and another thread have also brought smiles into my mind remembering how great it was. The connection in partner dancing, having to follow or lead, can be intense and awesome (in the original sense of the world.) I remember one waltz with a young kid (from my perspective, he was probably in his twenties) and it was so transcendental that I would have followed him anywhere. :D Just joking, he was about the age of my son. :D And I am sure had no interest in an old lady and I probably wouldn't even particularly like him in the real world. But my could he dance! :D

Aunt Blabby, I don't watch TV at all. And my interest in watching others dance is quite low. I want to be moving. :-)

Tango is one of the few dances I don't fancy. 40s and 50s swing. Think Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.

Unfortunately not. :( I prefer '80s pop dancing, I really enjoy watching people who can dance like that, must be very liberating. 8)

As a musical term for sure, "the '80s" imply the late '70s and early '90s. You can think of them as tapers of this golden decade.
