I wish I lived in the mountains or in a forest, Maybe not at the moment as Australia is having a cataclysmic bush fire season

I prefer wilderness. I live a mile off the road in forested swamp. No neighbors. I love it. if I had an exorbitant amount of money, I would buy land much more remote. But I am blessed to have what I have.

Prefer over what? Also, are we talking about mountains or forests?

Either way, forested mountains are maybe my favorite places to be. I'm not an introvert though. I'm one of those can't-take-a-hint / in-your-face-with-facts aspies.

Not really true for me. I'm not a very scenic person as it relates to views or stargazing or anything like that. It doesn't seem to do as much for me as it does for other people.

I'm more of an indoorsy kinda guy.

I'm about as far on the introvert scale as you can get without being an actual hermit, and I've always preferred cities. As big as possible. For me, it's more about easy access to goods and services, jobs, and emergency services.

I'll admit that noise is a factor, and I do very much enjoy the times I travel to somewhere more rural because of the dead silence at night, but a city apartment with heavy soundproofing, in a location where people aren't interested in having an active street or apartment-block community (or at least respect privacy), works well enough. The bigger cities have enough anonymity in crowds that there's not much in the way of social interaction expectation on the streets.

The advantage of rural living, I'd imagine, would be the ability to not only have solitude in the house, but also to be able to go for a walk without encountering anyone, and being able to enjoy the outdoors. My city preference may be partially as a result of being a largely indoor type, rather than anything else.

Nature really kicks off sensory issues. The dry areas in western USA freak me out. It is like I am hearing; "This is not for your species, please leave!" Ocean waves lapping up on the beach make me unable to hear anything else. Bugs and crickets in the woods are deafening to my ears. Extreme temperatures or weather freak me out. I don't like anything extreme and freak out when I can't keep my house [like a power outage] the perfect temperature. No one has any idea how unpopular this is in the world. I never tell anyone what's happening to me. I think part of it is I inherently know where it is not for humans to go and I'm not going against nature's space.
