I'm starting to really think this is a good idea. I just need a break from well... life.
Anyone want to team up with me and make an autistic person's resort? No NT's allowed.
The idea of going away for a week and well.. roleplaying is actually starting o appeal to me.. I am shocked and apalled at myself.
It's called the Pennsic Wars. 2 weeks out in the middle of nowhereland Pennsylvania with 10,000 other history-roleplaying-obsessed people living in tents who don't care if you socialize - or not, beat each other up with fake weapons - or not, eat fabulous amounts of food and beverages - or not, as long as you are dressed for the duration in accurate period clothing from some pre-1600's culture of your choice - from BC Roman soldier, to woad painted ancient Briton, to Japanese Samurai, to Middle Eastern dancing girl, to Elizabethan peasant or nobility, and more.
A wonderful place to "get lost" for 2 whole weeks.
Everyone there is weird, therefore
nobody there is weird!
<sigh> Someday I'll get there, when my little ones are older. Until then, I live it vicariously through my 22yo daughter who DOES go, and satisfy myself with one-day or weekend events.
