I have been aware of, and occasionally taking, the Myers-Briggs Personality Type tests for over 20 years. I used to test out consistently as an ISTJ -- what I describe as a militaristic 'do what needs to be done' type, who prefers facts, order, and stubborn objectivity, and a tendency toward black-and-white thinking. In other words, kinda boring and not very fun to be around
In addition to Level 1 ASD, I also have epilepsy, so I have taken anti-seizure medications all my life. A change in that daily medication back in 2007 really affected the way my brain operates, and I think that caused a big shift in my overall personality. I think overall, that medication change was good for me, as I feel much more aware of my everyday environment than I used to be. But the biggest problem that created is my tendency to sometimes feel overstimulated by things that I used to be less sensitive to (sound, touch, and light), so I tend to have more meltdowns than I used to, which one could say, caused my autistic nature to become more exposed. But I can say I feel a lot more compassionate and fun to be around than I used to be on the previous medication
My most recent M-B test showed me to be an INFJ, with very strong I and N scores, but virtually identical scores for F/T and J/N. My type while I'm at work (where going by facts and objectivity are most necessary) is INTJ, while my home type is INFP or INFJ. But I conclude, that in my most average state of mind, I'm an INFJ.
