I was one for eight years, one year for moral reasons, the rest just because it stuck. I preferred it but feel I need the protein (believe me, eating endless soya, beans and nuts does nothing compared to chicken for muscle growth). Often go for meat free days though.

I'm personally not a vegetarian, however I think that Aspies might become vegetarians for a couple of reasons. The first reason could be the tough texture of the meat. The second reason could be the strong connection that they feel towards animals.

The first reason IS the first reason I went vegetarian :D

Chewing meat was just blech. I hate the texture. And it tastes like metal.
The constant chewing and the metal taste just reminded me of chewing on a metal bar or something.
