No, I don't think Trump is on the spectrum. It would be one thing to suggest he is on the spectrum because of something concretely related to DSM criteria. However, it's an insult to the ASD community at large to suggest this is the case based purely on the fact that he is a huge f-ing jerk.

I feel like this is just another case of the bad behavior of "Kevins" getting written off as "oh he probably has Aspergers." Interestingly, I don't really see the same thing for Karens.

I'm curious about his obsession with winning. Psychologically, what would that be? He seems to care about nothing else.

Absolutely not. He has a strong hatred of people who are on the spectrum.

A narcissist thinks they're the greatest person in the world.....now the greatest person in the world would always win. Therefore he must win, or his grandiose delusion is threatened by cold reality in a very clear-cut way. Hence his preoccupation with winning. I hope he loses the election, if for no other reason than to see the look on his face when it happens.

I don't even see why we need a psychologist to assess him - just look up the traits of NPD and check off against years of visible behaviour. NPD is a perfect fit.

Trump is far too socially aware to be on the spectrum.

He has a typical billionaire type personality. They are without social fear because they are insulted by the outcomes of social rejection by their wealth.

Nearly all NT humans have a survival mechanism setup as their own personal support network of social, family & work that they have to be careful to maintain. They might have to worry about what they say, losing their social / financial support network, being fired from their job, not being able to afford the rent having no one to help you & ending up on the streets finding your next meal in the trash.

Even millionaire politicians may think along these lines, like ordinary people because even a few million of newly made money may not be enough to overcome this psychological fear.

But billionaires, especially if born into it have reached social fear escape velocity. They truly don’t care; someone will always be their friend & if not they will simply buy them. They don’t have to worry about upsetting a boss, or the consequences of rejection so are truly free to say what they want.

Same here - or at the very least try and get my own diagnosis overturned. Overall I agree with other posters on here who've said that he fits the profile of someone with NPD more closely.

Yes I can't see him being a good loser. His mind will never accept that he lost. Hopefully he'll just whinge about being cheated by fake news and communists, rather than try to somehow hang onto power regardless.
