I was diagnosed at age 12, basically right at the beginning of trying to work out who I am... Though I completley ignored the diagnosis, it made no difference to me if some doctor said I was Aspergers, or not... It helped my Mum and Dad.

My Mum offered me a lot of literature to read on it, but I declined, for a long time the thought of reading about myself in some book was disturbing. Though it made it difficult when trying to explain what AS was to friends... hehe

Since my 21st b'day I've been a ton of research into AS, and even with all this new knowledge, I would never want to be cured EVER. I love who I am. I just someone else would apart from my family...

Meh. I could do without a cure. Just somebody teach me how to woo the ladies and I'd be alright.

A snippet of an IRC chat I just had (not WrongPlanet related, but related to this topic)

<GalileoAce> I have the right to berate, belittle, and in general attempt to discredit all the christian religions
<Jae|Sleep> Yes, you have the right, but that doesn't *make* it right
<Jae|Sleep> There's a difference between having a right, and doing what is right
<GalileoAce> Just like professionals have the right to seek and produce hopes of a cure for autism. Doesn't make it right
<Jae|Sleep> Are they "right" to try and force a cure on you if you don't want it?
<GalileoAce> No
<Jae|Sleep> But they do have the right to try
<GalileoAce> Just like I have the right to defend myself with leathal violence if they do try
<GalileoAce> :)
<Jae|Sleep> LOL
<Jae|Sleep> And then plead insanity!
<Jae|Sleep> And then plead insanity!classic
<GalileoAce> Yes!
<GalileoAce> :D

meh. I didn't mean it like that, but as you probably have read, most aspie guys are compeltely horrid with the opposite sex. me included. Being born without any sisters and lacking any close, personal contact with females in my life, I really DO need to learn how to talk to them. Most guys on here have the same problem.

I used to go to an all boys school, but luckily I was born with a sister in the household. I have learnt to socialise with girls only moderately. Only on a friend level.

But my sister was friendly. But she wanted a twin when she was younger and so tried to get me to dress in matching clothes to her.

My 2 sisters are both younger than me. Mellise is only 2 years younger, and we're practically twins (we even have a 'connection'). We were the greatest of friends. But then Teegan was born, I was 6 and Mellise was 4. Mellise practically clung to Teegan, and I was kinda forgotten... Though I love both my sisters and I wouldn't wish either of them to not exist, I still kinda hurt about Teegan's entrance to our family.

Oh well. When I first saw the picture I thought that the dog being held was a monkey. Then I looked again. Sorry.
