There are a lot of issues with the way I was assessed that time, so now I don't really pay attention to the stuff she told me. She acted like I was creepy for getting along with kids a bit younger than me, which now confuses me because she was supposed to work with kids who have developmental issues, who often get along with younger kids... She worded it like I wasn't even trying to befriend people my age and like she didn't believe I actually got along with younger kids.

I also was almost held back in Kindergarten and was put in special ed in the first grade because of developmental issues, and got along with kids younger than me even then. I'm pretty sure she was aware of me being in special ed and having issues like that because she asked for my records from the school district I was in.
A lot of therapists and helping professionals in general just have a much too narrow view of “normal” is, can be, should be, etc.

I just have no patience for mind games and people trying to corner/shoehorn me into taking sides. I mean... I really have no patience for that (if that wasn't clear enough -- which I'm sure it is...).

I went nearly ten years without talking to my sister at all because of that kind of crap. She apologized eventually.

I didn't say I don't fall for them. Case in point, I'm posting this reply.

This is my cue to take this website off my bookmarks and take a break.

This might be a time to gracefully back off, don’t you think?

Please do not leave our group just because of one individual. Or, even several rude people.

Please try to focus on the constructive and polite people here at our site. :D

Pepe, please contribute something other than off-topic quips and foolishness or leave the thread alone.

I find most people my age (early 60s) to be both dull and boring.  Very few can engage in discourse on more than a handful of topics (i.e., grandkids, retirement, sports, and general gossip), and most have gone through most of their lives with little or no in-depth interest in the sciences.

Seems that way but isn't a question of age. I think it's rather a question of interests and mental flexibility.

Most of the time no, but it depends on the person's personality.

Everything written in the OP is totally me. I am fine though online with strangers, people I don't know.

Not me, nope.

Probably because age standards here are a bit skewed and all over the place.

There are indeed those who are younger than me with more experience, wiser and are more reliable than those who are twice their age.

And there are certainly those who are much older than me with less experience, more gullible and not as competent nor respectable save for the basis of age.
