Aspiedar
Oh! I hadn't noticed this thread before.
Yes, I have aspiedar. I had it long before I knew AS existed. I have a bit more difficulty making the "final call" with the chameleon-type aspies, but I tend to find them.
Most recently, I'm very certain about a girl from my CPR class. Interestingly, she sniffed me out as well, even though I was wearing a neurotypical disguise
(she, on the other hand, was dressed in a typical out-of-style aspie way). I can only presume she picked up on my mild stimming and poor eye contact. She had the very same stims as I did! It was very interesting. We came together during the first break, like magnets. We had a snack in the cafeteria and didn't talk with each other hardly at all, just sat in comfortable silence, punctuated by a few inexpert attempts at starting conversation. Then she dove straight into the dirty secrets of her family! When it was time to go home, she pulled out a fantasy novel and stared at it so nobody would talk to her. But she said good-bye and was friendly to me.
I wouldn't mind having a girl friend like that.
