For me, FOX "News" is one thing I truly cannot stand-- first of all, because they hardly report any kind of news (it's all politics and outrage around the clock), but also because their opinion people come across very loud and pushy, as if it's not good enough for them to believe what they believe, and that (the way they put it) I must believe that way, or else.

Second, bees-- ever since I got stung that one time as a boy of 5, I associate even carpenter bees (which have been said not to have a sting) with a painful sting, because I knew then how painful it was to be stung (it could have been worse; I've been stung by wasps and yellowjackets as well).

Commercials in which people are shown dancing in reaction to unexpected opportunities to go shopping, get a loan with easy credit, or bet on sports while taking a dump.

There was a local ad for a car dealership in which a saleswoman was shown dancing in anticipation of a "monster" sales event. Really ground my gears.

Probably because I am too uncoordinated to dance like that.

Reminds me of a common scene in old cowboy films, where a rider charges in yelling and waving his hat, proclaim that such and such territory has been accepted into the union, at which point people start yelling, jumping around, and dancing in the streets.

Establishment propaganda? Did your average homesteader or frontier town person really care that much about the issue?

I don't think cowboy films had much to do with actual life in those places and that time in history. I was never much into them, although my father liked the grittier TV cowboy shows such as Have Gun Will Travel. Actually feeling too cynical at the moment to discuss that stuff. I was in a pub a couple of weeks ago and saw a movie being shown on one of the TVs entitled "The Quick and the Dead" which starred Leonardo DiCaprio back before he was in Titanic (so really not so long ago from an elderly person's point of view). It was the most pointless drivel I ever saw, but apparently some people think it's a good movie. Had life in the Wild West actually been like what was shown in that movie, I don't know why anyone would have stayed there. TBH I do think people would go out there because they were wanted somewhere in the more "civilized" US or even some other country, or they thought they could make a go of farming as homesteaders (an entirely different discussion I prefer to avoid). You have to assume those people were desperate or they wouldn't be there. I basically agree with your theory that they wouldn't care about a territory they lived in becoming a State.

Every neighbor has not only porch lights, but bright spot lights shining everywhere. I used to love to get my telescopes out to view the heavens, but with all these lights -- so much for successful viewing. People can be so inconsiderate. Oh well, now I just keep over $5,000 of astronomical instruments locked in cases. How sad.

I used to really like cereal, especially the sugary kind. But now I'm not just into eating it anymore. Maybe because I don't get up early anymore. I could have some for a snack at night, but meh.

I did like the new Strawberry Frosted Flakes I had not too long ago. But I haven't bothered buying any more.

I feel like this shouldn’t be a thing, but some people’s faces. It literally causes me a physical reaction; either revulsion or anxiety.

I've read about this 6-7 thing. Parents and teachers should just have a 6-7 jar. It would be like a swear jar, except instead of swearing the kids have to put money in it for saying 6-7. I know teachers don't get paid nearly enough, so I'm sure they'll love it.

I looked up the stupid song where it came from and they only say it once and it hardly stands out, I don't know why it's become such a big thing.

Quite obviously the world has become so boring there's simply nothing else more important to discuss.
