Does anyone else have trouble remembering their childhood?

That's interesting, vanaprastha. I was younger but my memory also switched on at a move.

I remember from Giacomo Casanova's memoirs that he was also eight when it happened.

Not suggesting he was autistic.

But I'm interested in the age range, it seems quite broad.

Unfortunately I mostly remember a few traumatic times from being a kid.

My long term memory is rather good if I say so myself. I have snippets of being 2 and 3. I tend to have retained the most memory of what pop culture was doing during my childhood. Followed by personal memories, I don't remember the whole lot obviously and I lose some as time goes on. But I keep a few from each year.
And like most people, scary experiences are the most vivid. My earliest toddler memories are the scary ones.

I have decent memory through age 10 or 11. Before that, especially once I get to 8 and before, I remember nearly nothing.
