I still do that! When I'm waiting for my turn, I go through that poster in record time, probably because I've been staring at it on and off for the last 20 odd years. Used to be quite the horseperson as a lad, because my grandmother ran a riding school. Then my ME came along, changed a lot of my biological make-up and made me allergic to them. That came as a surprise, I can tell you.

Ah, Speedy, you have my sympathies. That must have been harsh :(

I couldn't manage without a daily 'horse fix' and I'm so lucky that as well as having my own horse, I work with other people's most days too.

Greek mythology when I was 6. Once we visited my uncle in whose home there was a book "Myths of Greeks and Romans" and every time we went there I used to importune my uncle for this book so as I could read it one more time. I didn't take care of Roman pantheon too much but I was on easy terms with Demeter, Apollo, Hades (my favourite god) and all the rest of the happy divine family. :D

So many of the things people have described are interests I have too: lists, world geography, travel (I would like to go to London in 2012), Greek mythology and history, cartoons (I used to collect Peanuts' cartoon books in third grade) and, of course, animals, as I mentioned. I love looking at animal breed posters, too. In my case, it's cats. I especially love pictures of Siamese and related breeds.

Oh boy, just remembered Greek mythology, I even got to play Atlas is a school production, holding up the world and everything :D . Any mythology for that matter, Norse was a good subject.
Being an (then unknown) aspie child, I spent most of my summer holidays riding ponies, right up to about ten. Various kids used to be regulars, some were a bad influence (no surprises there, the amount of "friends" I have come across, only to get in trouble because of them).

Battlestar Galactica; I'd sit down and watch it for hours upon hours when I was 2-3.

My dad said that when I was 2 o3 3, at my baby cousin's Christening, I wandered around, walked up to where the priest was, went behind him and started pointing down at the heating grates in the floor, which were iron or something and decorated with carvings of grapes and vines and leaves and that... "Here's one... there's another one!" I then stood in the entranceway or somewhere and started telling adults about the ventilator shaft, "This shaft is" blahblahblah... I think this was after the ceremony. :D
