I also happen to think you sound (write) older than your age; hmm, it just occurred to me that having multiple folks living upstairs may lead to cumulative age that is higher than physical age. :o I recently aged myself at 102 because of the three worlds I exist in (real, imagination, dreams).

To the thread: Yes, I look younger than I am; I'm 34 and still regularly get carded. I keep an obnoxious goatee largely for the sake of trying to look older than I seem.

Of course, the riddle of it all is that aspies are the new Numenorians; they all age 1/5 as slow as "normal" human because they will end up living 5 times as long. 8)

I'm right; you'll see.

Maybe it's because we don't "emote" as much. We don't wear out the muscles in our faces, our skin doesn't slacken as much from stretching and compressing and we don't get wrinkles or "laugh lines"...

It's a theory. :D

I'm 23, whenever I get carded they look surprised at my age and sometimes make a comment about it. Plus my demeanor is somewhat childish apparently.

I'm 28, but i look like i'm 21. When i shave, i always get asked for id anywhere i go. It's sort of flattering. But wait till you meet your lovers' mom, and they ask how old you are, and you tell them, and they look at you like you are some perverted devil who tries to take advantage of the youth of america. It's not my fault, lady. ;)

And it's a brilliant theory.

I'll try to examine this further just for the amusement. Who knows, maybe it's true that autistic people have less wrinkles.

I am almost 30. I have been getting ID'd since I was about 19. Prior to this...well, I won't even bother with details, but I I looked ALOT older than I was and well, got away with a hell of alot in that aspect...

To this day, I am id'd in the Liquor store, out for dinner and drinks, grabbing a pack of cigarettes for someone...

But I think what's worse is when seniors look shocked to see me with my children, immediately look for the ring finger and shake their heads in disbelief like I am an invisible teenaged wasteland.

BLOODY INSANITY!

I turned 28 on Monday, but I still got carded at my birthday dinner when I asked for a beer. Most people believe that I am somewhere between 17-21.

One of the funniest stories involving my youthful appearance was when my fiancee and I were visiting her mother in NE Colorado. My fiancee was checking out at a liquor store, the lady behind the counter asked if I was old enough to be in the store, and I am four years old than my fiancee (who did not even get carded)!

Yes. I've noticed people with AS tend to either look younger or older, and be either less mature then their age group, or more mature.
