i have walked on my toes so extensively that it has affected the way my feet have developed.
The front part of my foot is very wide and strong and I have very dexterous toes, while i have flimsy, narrow heels. Also..i don't know if it is true or not, but a girl I went to school with who had been taking ballet since she was little said that over time, ballet dancers develop this bony ridge over the top of their foot, from practicig going on pointe....(or something like that)
She said I already had it.

Have you got the skill to move your toes one by one?

I still walk on my toes when I'm agitated or distracted, but it was literally the only way I would walk when I was a kid. The reason why, it just felt like the right way to move. I was also more agile when dodging people who wanted to hurt me.

I walked that way so much my Achilles tendon is chronically shortened. It lead to a bunch of physiotherapy problems. Now walking flatfooted up stairs or hills hurts a lot because the tendon just isn't long enough to extend that far.

Pros/Cons
-Pro: It made me feel better as a kid
-Con: It doesn't feel as good now that I'm an adult :)

Maybe not on toes, but I do a forefoot strike when I go around barefoot.

Yes, an autism trait. I used to do this often as a child and I didn't think anything of it until recently.

Athletes make a serious study, of how people move -- even a simple step.

The Forefoot Stride – While it may look strange, this stride has maximum shock absorption. This stride is responsible for relieving countless numbers of runners and walkers of a myriad of injuries and pain. If you can commit to doing this at least part of the time, your body will thank you. The forefoot stride also promotes great posture and core strength, elongating the body and making you naturally taller. Nature’s healing (dynamic) high heel and calf builder! Last but certainly not least, the forefoot stride is great for ninja-inspired maneuvers best employed for midnight cookie stealing.

I feel that people in shoes will oftentimes place their weight on the heel. Barefoot people seem to favor their toes, as though you are stepping between objects, through tall grass or brush. It seems like a tentative way to walk.

I do this if there is gritty dust or dirt on the ground, as the feeling of it really annoys me. The feeling of tiny particles affects me like 'nails on a blackboard'.

I still walk in tip toes sometimes, that I broke several pairs of footwear over the years. And other than that, I pace... In kilometers.

I haven't figured why I do.
For all I know, I have enough motor skills to perform something trickier or riskier ways to feel pressure from the feet: Sliding through slippery surfaces, twirling, skipping stair steps... I do those whenever the opportunity presents itself, even if the situation deems it inappropriate.

And, I haven't figured why is this... :|
