There are plenty of threads that aren't negative. What are we supposed to do- put on a big fake smile and pretend we're fine? No thanks, most of us have to do that all the time. This is the one place where people can vent and others actually understand why. So there is a lot of talk here about NT society making life difficult for us. I think we're entitled to complain.

In most of those "negative" threads, there is also a lot of good advice and support.

Furthermore, why announce you're leaving at place you dislike? If I don't like a message board, I just disappear one day. Seems like a ploy to get attention. How petty.

exactly.
no one has to read a thread, the title usually gives it away, don't like it-avoid it,simple.

I do the same as us aspies quite often have extreme mood changes.

But we can not all be responsible for our actions all the time, I have left a forum and ask to be taken off, in one of my as I call them withdrawal moods - maybe they could be being petty or maybe its their way of reaching out, I try not to be too judgmental, as we do not all have great communication skills...

I think like everything else, this site is evolving, it has to or else it will simply die off and float into the great big chasm of the internet graveyard. In that evolution there is cropping up a voice for solutions and within that people are bringing to the table what works for them and what doesn't. For any solution to work the focus has got to be on just that - solution - and not focusing and hyperfocusing on what's wrong. I think everybody gets it - that there is criteria of dysfunction that we all meet to one degree or another - and that it's impeding truthful, honest and empathetic relationships with self and others.

What I'd like to see - and which I suggested in another thread is a special section devoted entirely to healing body, mind and spirit from a biological, psychological and spiritual/psychic approach - the actual healing of the *wall* - breaking through and emerging on the other side intact and thriving. Those that would like to continue to dwell in the mire of their sadness and misforture can do that too - but I tend to agree with the OP that this doesn't serve us well, and in fact, is demoralizing and counter-productive to self-empowerment.

Fully support that suggestion

So do I. That sounds a really positive idea.

To me, if he thinks this place is full of negativity he must only have hung out in The Haven and Member's Only Forums, maybe WP Discussion, News and some of the other Coping in Life Forums as well. To me, Random, Getting to Know, Off the Wall, and the Topical Discussion Threads are some of the happiest places on the net (especially Random!). AS isn't all happy-go-giddy, but it certainly isn't all gloom and doom either.

The place to start would be a thread. Sections are very difficult to get built.
In fact, I too, would like to see that. A thread on healing, hmmmmmm ....

I know some of us have success stories to relate.

Maybe I should throw this out for responses??

Like "Have you gotten healing, and want to share that?"
