I do it once a month; it's a whole bunch of adults staring at the ground, a whole bunch of children screaming, and a couple of children squealing (non-verbal). I'm in the former staring at the ground group, I tend to rock/sway more than the others (interestingly enough, I actually haven't noticed an adult rock/sway).
I don't wish to interact with them anymore than I do "normal" people, in fact, I don't like being around them because I know the discomfort they're feeling. I'd rather be in the presence of "normal" people (because I cannot read them).
I don't want to be in the presence of anyone however.
That sounds really uncomfortable.. I am not sure what the point is of getting a whole lot of people who find other people incredibly stressful to the point of stimming, in a room together...
With AS groups it appears there are some that are talkative and verbose and others are more quiet and dont want to join in.. quieter aspies seem to like more structured discussions... it is hard to please everyone...
Another thing that I hear helps is board games and games like pool, where the aspies can intellectually interact via a game without being made to feel they should be socialising with each other.
I personally prefer an unstructured group because I love the wealth of information aspies can share... but im talkative.
