Inventor, when you say travel educates, do you mean travel within one's country too?
I consider it strange to not know where that road leads. Some travel the same paths every day.
I lived places, never knew what was twenty miles away. Then I started taking day trips, this way, that, just to see what was there. I travel alone, other people just do not work out.
It is building a mental map, not only the space, roads, but the economics, some make a living where they are, others in the area, some go to cities, some live there. I discovered I wanted work that I could take with me.
I learned that some people live where they want, and sell something to the world. Learned through mapping people space.
Another thing was people are nicer to strangers. Once you have been around for a while, things change. They feel they know you, and can be annoying. We are all this way, so you should be too, because you live here. So you should act like someone who was born here, went to school here, and never left town. Time to move.
Before I go somewhere I learn the history, geology, study maps, and often know more than people who grew up there.
What I have learned is in a Democracy, those with IQ's below 100 have the majority of the vote.
It explains a lot.
