ALL THE TIME. I HATE IT.

"OH take off your jacket and stay a while!" I don't understand why people just can't trust that I know when I do and do not wish to take off my f***ing jacket.

My System of A Down hoodie is like my lovely little security blanket.

Also when it's freezing out, it's the only thing I'll wear, and I always get the "aren't you cold?" thing too. Dude, if it bothered me, I'd get a heavier jacket. Go away.

I used to hate winter clothes when I lived in Houston. Now that I moved from the southeastern part of Texas to the northwestern part, I appreciate them greatly.

I almost never get cold. One time I was walking my dog in shorts and a T-shirt, feeling fine, and it started snowing. It's remarkable I haven't died of pneumonia yet.

I have a large collection of hooded sweatshirts or "hoodies". I wear them year round, indoors and outdoors. In the winter, it's not uncommon for me to wear 4 or 5 of them at the same time. I have them in many different sizes to accomodate layering. I do often find that I'm very cold. My affinity for wearing them has caused me some problems. Last year, without warning, my employer created a dress code disallowing them. I now feel completely uncomfortable and I dread arriving at work and having to remove it. I tried reasoning with them but they say that it looks "unprofessional". I reminded them that I an not a "professioanal" which didn't really help to convince them and made for an awkward situation. I've tried to substitute heavy and layered sweaters but they don't help. Also, it can get a bit hot in the summer months, but I still wear them because they feel so comforting to me.

I get hot really easily. So yes. I can't wear hoodies or layers of clothing. It feels weird. Like my skin is shirking off and twists around me.

Do people ever say this to you? I get this all the time, and it really annoys me. Also, the opposite when I go out in cold weather with just a light jacket: "Aren't you cold?" I think it's a sign that I am hyposensitive to temperature. Is this an Aspie thing?

Anyway, if I hear somebody tell me what to wear one more time... :x haha. Anybody else hear this?

YEP, it IS an autie/aspie thing. It is part of SPD(Sensory Processing Disorder).

Yes I'm hot. Is that why you want me to take my clothes off? ;)

Hypersensitive to cold, hyposensitive to heat.

I'l walk around wearing a leather jacket in 90+ degree heat in the summer with long pants and not at all be bothered. Why do I wear it? It keeps the sun from burning my arms and neck, the pants keep my legs from getting sunburnt, I like the feeling of having something covering my arms when I'm outdoors, it prevents insects from biting me, and I cannot stand over-agressive air conditioning indoors and as another member posted earlier, it helps mitigate that.

Hot stuff topic

Right now I'm freezing. Some people have the worst circulation. I never got hot flashes, And I love piling blankets. Lots of weight, lots of warmth. Cozy :D

I don't get hot that easy as long as there is air moving and I'm not doing hard physical labor I'm fine. I wear jeans all year, I hate shorts (partly because its nearly impossible to find girls shorts that go down more than and inch past your crotch). People are always like "Aren't you hot?" and I'll be like "No." I dislike being hot because I sweat like crazy (forehead mostly) I even sweat while blow drying my hair... but I get cold MUCH easier than I get hot, and I hate being cold but at least when you are cold you can curl up with a blanket or add an extra layer of clothes, when you are hot... well you can only take off so much...

I used to get asked if im hot/cold a lot and would wear a coat most of the time even sometimes in summer.

What amuses me though is because clearly I can tolerate cold much more than others that when someone comes along and tells me they're freezing cold and lets me feel their hands to show me but they feel warm and they realise mine feel cold to them so then they start to worry if I am cold but I'm not.

I hate that people overuse heating these days and cant let their body naturally adapt to the cold. There are too many houses out there hotter in winter than in summer.

My sensitivity to temperature is random. There have been times that i'll walk out of the house in shorts and a tank top with out realising it is 50 degrees outside. Other times when I'll go out in the middle of summer in a long sleeve black turtleneck and heavy sweater.

But on the reverse, I am very sensitive to A/C. My roommates turn the A/C to 68 in the middle of February and I can barely get out of bed. I think this has something to do with being all snuggly warm in bed and the temp change is too much.

oh and my toes are cold no matter what the temperature is. so i just ignore them.

If it's above 65 degrees outside, more that likely it's going to be t-shirt and shorts weather for me. Otherwise, I'll wear a a long sleeve crew neck like this: http://www.hollisterco.com/webapp/wcs/s ... 2564_12551, a pair of jeans out of my ridiculously expensive jeans collection - I own 3 pair of Sevens, 1 pair of Citizens of Humanitys, and 2 pair of Paige's PPD line for men. To top it off, I have brown faux fur hoodie from Hollister or my snowboarding jacket when there's a torrent outside.

Yes, I know my jeans are expensive. But they fit and feel GREAT against my skin. I guess that's the AS in me.
