LeKiwi, one hard part about diets is that I'm allergic to nuts and soy. I also can't eat many veggies because they cross-react with a latex allergy I have. I think the vit C, echinacea, and garlic will help me in the future. I used to cook with lots of garlic (I like the taste alot) but now it makes me worse. Vitamin B6 never bothered me before but now it does. That was 3 years ago. I think I have some autoimmunity now as the result of an infection that got worse or maybe from mercury from an amalgam filling I got 2 years ago. I read stuff about mercury may cause immune dysfunction which may lead to chronic infections.
Ugh, that's horrible!! What can you eat?
I guess the best thing is to just take it slow and help your body repair itself as best possible. The body does have the capacity to heal itself of most ailments - you just need to give it the fuel to do so, which of course varies from person to person.
I have a feeling I'm developing an allergy to almonds now, after half my lip swelled up after eating some yesterday, so I may have to cut back on my nut intake too! Apparently it's common for nut allergies to develop later in life in people with egg allergy. So that's a bit annoying, but I can live with that. Some people have it far worse.
Have you looked into getting the mercury filling replaced? I know it's expensive but I know people who've had it done and noticed vast improvements in their health. Mind you, these are people who've had 3 or 4 replaced, not just the one. I've never had a mercury one - refused and insisted on 'white' composite instead for the one filling I've ever needed - so I can't speak from personal experience. I know one dentist whose son was born with permanent mercury damage due to her working with the amalgam ones all the time, which is proof enough for me. The thought of it being in your mouth all the time is just... ugh, no ta.
