Asperger's is just a variety of HFA as far as I'm concerned. Indeed, I'd rather be labeled "HFA" then "Asperger's" because the latter can easily be turned to derogatory phrases like "ass burgers" and "ass boogers"

THIS. EXACTLY.

I elaborate by saying that people with Asperger's present with almost all of the symptoms of autism besides developmental and speech delays.

People with AS often have the same comorbid physical problems like epilepsy, Tourette syndrome, sensory integration dysfunction, and basic clumsiness. There are other examples of accumulative evidence strongly linking the two disorders.

The latter can be there in AS depending on the diagnostic criteria used; many professionals argue that the first is there too in individuals with Asperger's.

Also, it's telling that I've been diagnosed with both autistic disorder and Asperger's disorder; the former is based on my delayed development of speech [plus three more of the criterions under the DSM-IV-TR in communication difficulties], the latter for I meet Gillberg's criteria for AS which is what some institutions use as they see no difference between HFA/AS.
