binge drinking uk style

Binge-drinking is getting out of control in Britain. One in four adults in Britain are binge drinkers and the UK recently topped a poll as Europe's heaviest alcohol consumers

Going to a noisy bar with a group of people. Yuck.

I really don't mind bars as long as I'm around people I know. Most of my college buddies have "intellectual" interests so our chit-chat is actually interesting, not lame discussions about Britney Spears' latest problems with K-Fed.

Talking on the phone just for the sake of talking.

Groups of young women going to the mall

Excessive formality

My biggest pet peeve is the whole chit chat thing before anything. I never know what to do. I don't mind getting together with people I know but people I don't know and who might possibly not get me is a nightmare. I hate putting friends in the position of defending that I'm weird. People don't ever understand.

I hate those excuses for parties as well. Dirty toy parties, tupperware, baskets, lingerie, home decor, candles, make up. I wish I'd gotten in on that scam. Reasons for NTs to get together and capitalising on their stupid need to be together for inane reasons.

My sister is forever having these parties. I keep trying to tell her that it's a waste. I don't have that kind of money. And worse crime. I don't care! Ugh.

Weddings and funerals are not fun. If I get married, I don't want everyone to feel they have to act a certain way or dress a certain way. I'd like people to just be themselves and have fun. But in reality, I probably wouldn't have a wedding anyway.
Funerals are odd, too. Everyone there is already acting strange and my acting strange isn't helping, and soon everyone is acting upset and strange and it's all bad. And then everyone starts apologizing for acting strange/getting mad at you for acting strange and there's still this dead person there who is acting the way a dead person normally would--- dead.

Stand around and chit-chat and play horseshoes just to be social? I get shivers down my spine just imagining the idea.

I'm gone!

    *Phone Calls
CALL SOMEONE ON THE PHONE JUST FOR FUN TO TALK... WTF!! !! !! AHHH HHHHHHH WHAT HAS THIS WORLD GONE TO!! !
I feel your pain.

Right here in my place there is a very odd tradition.

If it is someone you know's birthday you call him to congratulate him, no, no gifts, no visit, no any serious thing, you just say the same ultra hypocrite thing every year, have a great year and things like that, it gets very strange to have your birthday and have to receive all those calls from people. I guess it works just so you know they remembered, although today with so many electronic agendas it doesn't sound so hard...

Getting together with people would not be so bad if someone actually wanted to play horseshoes, or billiards, or darts. I need to be doing something to keep me from looking stupid when I have no idea how to respond to NTs. I need enough freedom at these things to be my normal eccentric self.

School *** :ncool: *** :eew: *** :wall: *** *** :bom: ( Apparently it's not "work", and training people to read and write and count and use a computer doesn't take that long, so what else is it but a gigantic enforced social activity! )

Staff Meetings are the worst!! !

If you do not have a white collar job and have never experienced a staff meeting, consider yourself lucky. I especially hate the meetings that are designed to boost morale.

Beach picnics are my biggest hatred. Everyone seems to love them. I don't know what there is to adore so much about us women having to get up at 6:00 to prepare tons of salads and the rest of the food and drink, and stand in the scorching sun laying the tables, then trying to get the sun out of the food, while the men sit and talk or go for a swim. Then roasting in the unbearable sun for a whole day doing nothing and talking to people who have nothing interesting to say. Nobody understands why I despise beach picnics, though. The women, especially, love them. I once swore never to attend one anymore, and I never will. I don't even attend when it's from work. I say I'm allergic to the sun.

Being in a public washroom, with a whole bunch of girls and waiting for a toilet, while they chat about hair, guys, make-up and Top 40 music. I've actually snuck into the men's washroom, once and I've bumped into one of my best friends, who's a man.
