what physical disease do you have?

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

This doesn't have anything to do with LFA/MFA/HFA, but I am not listed anyway!

ME? I am basically:

have many acquaintences, a couple friends, no girlfriend/wife, a full time job, work ok with co-workers, NO social life!

I'm basically 2, only I have a full-time job. I can work with people(I'm not abrasive, I'm easy to get along with), but do it best if it's occasional, and I prefer to work alone. I also avoid interacting with people as often as possible.

Picked 3.. but I don't know. Probably lower.

I have quite a few friends, but I flit between considering them 'real' friends or not.
No job, never had one, s**t scared of even trying to do get one.
Haven't had a date in a year and a half, I think.. I'm never quite sure about some situations. :s

I voted 10, though I wouldn't say I have an "extensive" social life (or want one, for that matter)....

For what it's worth, after high school ended and I wasn't working, I was probably closer to a 2.

Same with me. I've also never dated (I'm 20, though), and I've never had a real job, but I'm at college, I don't know if that counts.

I hope I get to get married and to have a good job. maybe get a pair of real, real friends.

In college too.. but had a year out in which I never even got an interview. Can't seem too fill out forms properly, never mind write a CV...

I've actually had 2 girlfriends, but I don't believe I've ever been on a date as such. Weird eh..

Interesting there is such a variety.

I wonder if this accounts for the various perspectives on the cure issue.

I don't know... there's so many different types of people and aspies... it's so hard to categorize imo. But it's fair enough to try I guess, if you're interested.

I'd say I have some things some aspies would like, and I also think I don't have things other aspies have that I wish I had... which is probably quite a common thing for us right?

I can socialize in my own kinda way half the time... and get by like that. I can play music and have potential in this area. I have a few acquantancies, but I'm not really close to any friends in my College with the exception of a dude called Chris Hintz. There's a couple of great friends who left College last year... they're not exactly 'popular' and they're quite self absorbed so I guess that's why I like them lol.

But I have no motivation for work. I can't cook yet, can't be motivated to drive, constantly getting obsessed in awkward areas such as thinking I could have a certain so called disorder etc etc...
Thinking that the world half the time is trying to stop me getting anywhere in the work world... panicking a LOT...

I really don't know... :?

Probably about a 4.
I have a couple of friends (which is enough for me, I couldn't handle too many), I'm single right now but have been in quite long relationships before and I work full time. I've always had trouble working with people but now I work for the family business which is a lot easier.

I find it hard to measure my level of functioning because it seems to go up and down all the time. Some years I am doing well and have some friends and am having fun. Other years i hardly leave the house.

Often it depends on my depression levels... I find it harder to come up with a socially appealing personality when I am disaffective.

This is an interesting way of assessing functioning, but rather flawed. Though I think it has use in thinking about the ways we assess our own functioning, and talking about that.

I am unemployed, have 2 close friends (and struggle to make friends, though often that's because I just don't like a lot of people, they're too much hard work), and no current relationship.

I want to work somewhere with a small amount of co-workers in a quiet environment.

However on Autistic diagnostic traits, I am very much "high functioning", falling into only just enough traits to meet the AS criteria, and even then I am somewhat straddling the line between AS / not AS (I don't say NT as I am Dyspraxic)

So yes. thankyou for an interesting poll.

None of those really apply to me.

My functioning is almost full, I could get a BF if I wanted to.. trying to get a full time job atm, but I have a few fiends and hundreds of aquaintences.

I'd put myself at about an 8, or maybe a 7.5. I have meltdowns and can't copw with several things on occasion, and not to mention, my social skills are almost passable, but theres very obvious aspie in them.

The thread starter means that the poll is anonymous.

You don't have to post if you don't want to, just vote.
