Fully tested twice in elementary school, scored 121 & 122. 98th percentile on the ASVAB. 1480 on the SAT (don't remeber percentile, but not real great). Equivalent of 1600+ on the ACT. I usually get 130-140 on the dinky online tests. At best, they only give you a general idea... "Tard" "Dumb as a post" "Smarter than the average bear", etc. Anyways, I doubt they've been renormed for the testing age. Kids today are tested all the time... education system has created a generate that is simply fantastic at taking tests!

i did some type of iq test when i was younger and scored in the below average section.

it was not a full test and it was an old one the doctor said. the dr also said that to truly be considered stupid u have to score in the bottom 2% of the population. but i remember what another dr said to my mother
just remember that she is smarter then what she tests. i am sure this is true for a lot of people.

let's see:

6th grade - scored 'around 130'...just from the description they wouldn't tell me
about 10 years ago - 115.
SAT- 1120 (490 on math, and 630 on Verbal)..but that was '76..;)
Totally blew the GREs, screwed up the Novell test for 3.11 (network administration), and have had a tough time with tests ever since. Must be old age or something...;)

My IQ is stratospheric (171), but sometimes I really think that's a fluke because I'm not too good at puzzles and math, the classic IQ skills. My classmates would be shocked if they knew, because I often radiate an aura of stupidity (I drool, for instance, and have a skipping, lurching sort of walk).

My intelligence is kind of a mixed bag I really suck at math, but when I talk, religion/philosophy, history, science, or generally any other similar subjects I am often commented on being very knowledgeable and well spoken if not a bit awkward and fast speaking. but idon have moments where ireally find myself thinking "shut up while you're ahead you've exhauseted you mental resources" but that usually only happens aroung close friends.

I've been called "smart with no common sense" before.

As have I, along with being called, "Too smart for my own good."

I was once called "an educated idiot".

I know a few people who are extremely insecure regarding their IQ. So insecure, in fact, that they see everything as a threat to their number. They will make it their absolute priority to tell everyone just how dumb they are, over and over again.

I used to be more insecure. But now I see the reasons behind it. Enough said. :D

There was a person who killed themselves when their boyfriend [or girlfriend, can't remember which] got better result than them in an IQ test on the yearly BBCs test the nation show.
IQ means little.

I feel sorry for that person.

People who place too much value on IQ scores usually don't feel they have anything else of value. How can a person like that be truly happy? They can't, and they won't.

IQ does measure "intelligence", but it doesn't measure anything else. And, mind you, "intelligence" is a very difficult thing to measure. Not even those tests which take Multiple Intelligences into account are 100% accurate.

When I was 15 I got a perfect score for the block design task but I was a little less than perfect at the last test a few weeks ago. I got 58 out of 67 which was still well above average.
I was more upset not getting a perfect score fore the block design task than doing atrociously at the working memory test, especially the digital span

Funny that
