I explained the reason. It's theorized that the parents of those with Asperger's/autism have a smidgen of the disorders themselves, and this is backed up by many as parents of those with an ASD show aspects of the disorders.
For example, my father doesn't make eye contact at all unless he knows you, and even then it'll be atypical; he has a single interest that he devotes all of his time to, he has emotionally/socially inappropriate behavior, and many other aspects of Asperger's. But he won't be able to gain a diagnosis as he functioned/functions so well.
He definitely has "mild" Asperger's, and this was confirmed by a psycho at Attwood's to me; he passed it on to me in the more severe form.
