most of my fears make sense. The only really weird one is a fear of escalators, but i know one other person who shares my extreme unease about them. I think its because people used to tell me that your shoelaces would get stuck and you'd get sucked under...

I had such fear a year ago, but it was connected only with extremly long metro escalators on the deep stations (about 300 feet length and 2 min trip - rather typical for Moscow) and sometimes I still feel uncomfortable on them. I just don't like height.

I have many irrational fears. Some reach the point of obsession.

I've had an intense fear of house fires pretty much my entire life. Nightmares and seeing the news on TV is definitely not helping this! It's to the point where if I have a friend who lives in an apartment or condo, I won't even go over there because I'm scared someone in the unit will accidentally start a kitchen fire or something and I won't be able to escape. And the dreams get to the point where I'm engulfed in flames and I can actually feel them. 8O

I am also afraid to lose my teeth, I really hate some of the dreams I have about me loseing my teeth.

I used to have those dreams a lot before, not so much now.

Also, needles, or ever needing surgery. Or losing consciousness.

I also fear needles and surgery, doctors, dentists, fire, now that I think of it, I fear pretty much everything.

Deep water, dogs, bees, spiders, snakes, and some heights.

These recent years I became afraid of lightning for no reason other than reading about it.
I'm afraid that it will find a way to me indoors no matter what I do; the lamp above my bed becomes a Damocles sword and I can't sleep until the thunderstorm stops.

I also distrust dogs.

That might work on a family pet but be careful, I would never suggest such a thing myself.
