My play from toddler up to about ten mainly consisted of pretending I was an animal, so I did lots of sounds. I have some vocal tics/stims still (humming, whistling etc), and I imitate animals FOR MY KIDS! Like someone mentioned, when you have kids you get away with anything. I howl and moo, miaow and bark and people think I'm just playing with the kids. Sometimes we go on so long that NT hubby gets really annoyed haha.

The best one is the donkey, but its so loud: HEEE- HAAAAAWWWWW! :P

I used to love making the animal sounds when and I still sometimes do when im very bored indeed, lol...
I used to pretend I was a dog and did the dog barking noices and made it sound so realistic that they thought there was a dog,
I don't do it as much unless im really bored :)

Oh yeah, I used to crawl around a ton too. XD
I really wanted to be a dog for like a whole year.. so I acted like one that whole time. (There are lots of dogs in my neighborhood and I used to bark out my window at night and get them all riled up..)
They made me stop going on all 4s pretty early at school though, like in 3rd grade or so. (Not like I did it all the time, but apparently it was still too much...)

I mainly used to mew or growl.

I still growl like a dog when I'm angry.

I also tend to make cat like postures...like hold myself like a crouching cat about to spring...

I make a meerkat "burb" sound when stressed like I am warning all the other meerkats of danger and then when I am calm I do it again as if I am telling the others it is okay. Weird because there are no meerkats here.

My son walks around meowing to himself all day long, and at night before he goes to bed. He probably does it in his sleep, too.

He's 16-months old and lives with a bunch of cats. I think it's a fairly normal thing for someone his age, NT or otherwise.

I don't remember if I did this as a child...I don't remember much about being a child really...
Anyway, I bark at dogs the bark at me.
And I imitate the birds around where I live and try to pick out the different bird songs. My favorite one is the cardinal.
Has anyone heard a squirrel? Because they make really fascinating noises when they are playing with each other.
I have an excellent quack. I still remember perfecting it, haha, i was around 8 and...hey! I did do this when I was a child. Whaddaya know.

I sometimes growled when someone was going to take my stuff or touch me some way. I mostly growled in grade school. Because some children came to me and they started to touch my stuff and if i did not like it then i growled. Then they were making joke like "ooh.. she is angry, keep away".
Nowadays i do not growl anymore.

I moo like a cow because of where I live which is stuck in the year 1809 in the middle of nowhere. Humans and technology are foreign concepts out here. Sometimes I talk like I am in the old days. I hear mooing all the time and can actually moo pretty accurately. Moo. Cow population 56363969836931. Humans: you.

I have been speaking Cat ever since I
can remember.

It is more than mewing, it is looks, muffs,
a way of acting.

Strange I can read cats but I am blind
to human body language.

I can imitate most mews enough to get
any cat's attention who does not know me,
our pusses around here respond in kind, they
are used to me mewing.

Strange cats just LOOK and LOOK
at me if I purr especially, they have
never seen a human purr.

Once they get to know me tho they
just muff up to me and purr right back.

I love to make animal noises as well. Since I have little kids people dont think its so strange. Its funny how much "aspie behavior" you can get away with without people thinking you are completely loopy when you have little kids around. .

One time when I was in Boy Scouts, we were going door to door selling tickets to a Scouting Event.

Another scout and I were going down the street in the nearby town together. At one house, there was a rather mean looking and ferocious dog who started to bark at us when we started to open the gate. The dog scared the other scout and he wanted to just skip that house.

So I started barking at the dog. A real ferocious bark that was not at all friendly. The dog in the yard yelped and ran around to the back of the house and stayed there until we had gone.

The other scout was quite impressed with that.
