23.

A bit low. I tend to find I can't help but care for someone who isn't doing well.

Ishmael, if you are reading this, for some one who uses the Doctor as their avatar, you are very different from him.

Empathy quotient
http://glennrowe.net/BaronCohen/Empathy ... tient.aspx

Tahitiii's score: 40
0 - 32 = low (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 20)
33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42)
53 - 63 is above average
64 - 80 is very high
80 is maximum

If this is the test you're all talking about, it's pretty useless.
Whoever created it doesn't understand his own question.
Apples and oranges. And about fifty other kinds of fruit, all mashed in together.
The fact that I don't understand what you want is not an indication of whether I care about you.

Garbage in -- garbage out. This test is trash.

Every-man-for-himself is not socializing. It's the opposite of socializing.

Your score: 14

Kinda surprised.

Felt like I answered more of those questions in a way that would register a higher EQ. Cannot believe it is so low...

I think this test is slightly flawed in that a few of the questions can't be calculated as either having empathy, or not. Not as simple as that. Like the haircut question. I wouldn't tell that person what I truly thought of his haircut because I'm empathetic, I'd disguise my true thoughts as I don't really know if that person would take offense to my "truth" in the first place. I've been blunt in a lot of ways, but I hide it, as I am quite used to being repramanded for it in the past.
