That's 'cause the Canadian military doesn't do anything.

that used to be the case, back when we were just peace keepers, but we do fight and we have excellent soldiers. although our military is smaller, and our equipment isn't as good as the Americans', our soldiers are better. i don't know how we stand compared to other countries specifically, but i know we're up there when it comes to quality.

Not military foundation but I can relate ....I was rejected to join the pilot school because of the height requirement.

Blackshoe ET; SATCOM/LOS/RADAR ("We fix what the Radiomen break"). I made E6 in less that 6 years, but could not get into OCS, so didn't re-up.

My nick-names were "Spock" (to the officers and enlisteds on my ship), and "Church-Lady" (on the radio red network).

"Any station this net ... any station this net ... Church-Lady calling any station this net ... radio check ... over."

As a recent High School graduate who passed a military run "carer assessment" test in the 97th percentile I've been badgered by military recruiters for the past few month, they stopped after I turned down every branch twice for the exact same reason "I cannot function in a high-discipline environment". I figured this out from Marching Band where I had meltdowns at almost every practice...which lead to my AS diagnoses. Even though I doubt I'd be diagnosed as AS if you only take my current behavior into account, I don't want to go back to that kind of situation.

In the unlikely case a draft is called (no current conflict is even close to requiring one), I'd probably try to get an exemption through my AS diagnoses, or at least try to get a tech position. Since I'd probably have my Associate Degree of Cyber Security and Computer Forensics by then it shouldn't be that difficult.

It seems to me that there are to many inconsistencies in the MEPS process: a person charged with robbery, aggravated assault or DUI (all misdemeanors) can get in and be allowed to work with expensive equipment or weaponry, and there are gang members openly serving as well, while someone who is intelligent, focused and resourceful with Asperger's, depression or bipolar disorder is rejected. Oh, and flatfeet are a DQ as well, even though they have not been shown to affect exercise physiology...
