i was just kidding. it's pretty lonely life. i am 29 and never had a girlfriend. you just cannot get attached to anyone since you know that after few years you have to go away. unless you are willing to stay abroad for the rest of your life with someone who you probably going to divorce later anyway.

and to get a phd is nothing difficult for aspies i would say, one just have find the peace to be able to focus on the work. if you are depressed it complicates things. although, i was fighting there with depression for two years. it is great job for aspies actually, because i was alone in my office all the time. just once in a while talking to my supervisor about the progress. (well, depends on the field.)

that I agree on.
That's very interesting as I was quite releaved when I found out there was a reason I had so many difficulties and my life sucked in general.

It's at least a reason, before I knew I had asperger's I just felt like a loser now I feel more like a winner for surviving as well as I have done.

Maybe it's to do with age and perspective I'm in my 30's and was diagnosed early this year, I can see why it might feel different if you've known since you were very young as you've always had it to blame things on, I on the other hand only had myself to blame so knowing that I have asperger’s I don't feel I have to blame myself anymore which feels like a step up for me.

I think it's the bit in between now and then that most people are focussed on.

I think the "I hate my life" posts depress me because I also can't relate to them. On the other hand, I had to work hard to get to where I am today. People who don't want to do anything to change their lives make me angry. I had that attitude up to about 14 years old or so. Lots of good things happened to change my outlook on life, and I was determined to change.

it was a relieve at first to read about my condition, later it evolved in utter cofusion, than acceptance, now militance (that's what I am, accept it!).
I do get tired sometimes of the long answers especially when it is about depression and can't, won't read on.
It's taking over my life in one week's time.
Luckily there are other non Apsie threads too.. :)
