I wish that I knew of more NTs that could view the video, and give their opinion. As I said, my NT hubby, and daughter recognized the expression right away (I did pause it to get their opinion, before it was tainted by the answer that was given), and said that is exactly what the "you are so full of it" look looks like.

I wouldn't say the kid is faking the surprise. Its just that he's showing his surprise in such a way to make sure its obvious to the other kid that there is no doubt he doesn't believe him.

Nts do it alot.

You can particularly see when married people have a disagreement in front of you - watch them and you'll notice the bulk of their argument is via facial expressions and not words.

My first impression was "Why is that idiot making such exaggerated faces?" (The first guy)

Then when they paused it, my reading of it was that the following sentence was going to be "Oh yeah? Cool!" In a surprised manner. To me, it did not seem as if he didn't believe him, but rather that he was surprised and excited.

I personally like my reading a whole lot more than their's. I've never seen a person who thinks you're lying make a face like that...

The guy was Asian. So that was hard enough for me.

Wow, I mssed it doubly bad. First, I didn't understand what they were saying. Second, I thought the expression was him being happy.

Then you got it half right. It wasn't "Oh yea? cool" It was "Oh yeah? I don't believe you."

But he was excited, clearly. You are not excited when you think someone's lying, are you?

I mean, unless he was going into a full face-spasm, that was not a "Yeah right" look. I DO the "Yeah right" look.

That is a common way to say "you're full of it." Nts often uselooks to convey very "pronounced" feelings that they don't say out loud.

I though the boy was just annoyed. He hoped having found a game that the other boy didn't know.

I think you can tell the other boy is lying because he is first interogative before telling he own the game. If he really owns the game he would say "Yes, I agree. I have it", not "Oh yeah? I have it". But I didn't got that the first time, as I don't see the point of lying about that.

The acting was.... medicore at best though.

I didn't get it. I thought he looked interested, as in "tell me more".

I know that. In fact, I employ it. But never, ever, have I seen anyone do that look to mark his non-belief.

I thought he was trying so say "Loser" or something like that, although that wouldn't fit with the linguistic content at all. At least I knew it was supposed to be negative, though.

I always thought I was pretty good at reading facial expressions, actually. I hope this doesn't mean I'm actually misinterpreting some of them.

What is the point about lying about such a thing? I guess that BS bridge I've failed to pass.
