In my younger days I was known for spur of the moment road trips to Detroit or NYC. I like driving to a destination.
I have no fear of flying itself, but I hate flying to places because then I don't have my car, and I feel trapped at others mercy.
Recently due to the Warcraft addiction, I only travel by car, and I only stay in Hotel rooms with high speed connections. 
Thankfully, I'm done with WoW when the expansion comes out.
