Yup, sometimes I get so engrossed in whatever I'm doing the whole day will pass and I'll never have a single meal

They say starch (rather than sugar) is more long-lasting and keeps you from feeling faint longer. I don't know why, but I can go all day without food and don't feel faint at all. Just as well, the very thought of breakfast used to make me feel ill.

I feel so normal here :D

My daughter, who was dx with autism at 27 months, does not have this problem, though. She actually used to gorge on all products she picked out while grocery shopping when we would get home.

This caused her to be in danger of becoming morbidly obese by the age of 11, her doctor told me i had to stop her eating. The gorging was the first thing to go, and i was very lucky she had already become conscious of her weight by just looking around at her peers(I did not feel lucky when she thought she was pregnant like her teacher when she was nine...but, her questions about that, and my answers probably helped us get food under control). From the day the doctor said fix it until 2 years later, we managed to keep her from gaining any weight. She is now thirteen, and reads labels for calorie content, eats what she calls healthy foods, though all are not, and even started trying new foods. She began working out this summer, but school is in right now, and the processing time she needs after a full day of learning, is keeping her from working out.

But, she was very bored. She wants to do things that she is too young for(like travel to spain), so her life is very boring, especially without friends to play with. Which she wants more than anything.

Sometimes I forget to eat or I do so as if it's a chore to stay healthy. I like to eat Ezekial toast with peanut butter and honey and cinnamon.
I can live off that. The only time I feel hungry is if I'm out and walking past restaurants and smelling the food. It seems to be more of a social thing though. I like to fast. It makes me feel stronger, cleaner, and clearer in my thinking. One time I went on a fast and all I ate was Greek olives.
I was super sharp then and I was doing yoga, meditating, and reading all the time. I think I might do that again as I find myself here too much and not being productive. Internet detox time.

I constantly forget, sometimes for as long as two days. for some reason I never forget to drink ridiculous amounts of water and coffee though.

bloody hyperactivity, it sucks big time, I wish I had normal BMI and for once not be able to count all my bones by just looking in the mirror. I've been considering tattooing some food-reminder on my forehead...

Glad someone else notices they are sharper for fasting. People get concerned and offer me random things I don't trust, but they were quick to complain when I had lethargic days, slowwww in my responses due to certain foods.

Got my BMI up from 16 to 20 (5.10) over eight months of wavering, so I am healthy. Enter cheerleaders.

I agree fasting is very healthy as long as you don't do it to excess.

There was an experiment recently - they found that rats that were given low food rations lived a lot longer than the normally-fed ones, and they were also healthy well into their old age.

This may sound funny, but does anyone else become so engrossed in projects that they forget to eat, then suddenly find themselves very hungry and shout something like, "Ah! That's right, food. Damn it!"?

Sometimes even after remembering I'm very hungry I still want to finish something and so continue on working only to forget again. What makes the doubly worse is that I'm terrible at keeping my apartment stocked with the basics, and usually have to go out for a meal.

Thank you 7/11 on the corner.

Many times!

Count me too.

In fact, even after I've already eaten I can't remember whether I've eaten or not.

I wrote about my daughter who eats, but forgot to say(other than pointing out i feel normal here, which could not be construed)

I have always forgotten to eat!

Feels like i'm on some kind of speedy drug when i'm "on" committed to a task...i think it's adrenaline, but alas have no laboratory to test myself in...sniff

This happened to me one summer, I lost 20 lbs and picked up some excess skin.
I just got so obssed with a game, that I didn't realise I wasn't eating.

Yeah, I guess I do forget to sometimes.
I get caught up in something and keep putting it off until I get a headache.

There was a point in march I noticed my bones ate my bottom, but I moved past it, had to tone down excessive exercising in my routine. Wake up bike ride, afternoon long walk, evening bike ride, eaten - Broccolli. These phases are transient, can go the other way, lots of foods, textures, flavours for stimulation, studying so not that active.

Processed foods make me sluggish in body and mind.

While we're on the subject, I found that red meat makes me irritable, for no discernible reason. So, I'm a vegetarian.

And... yes, I forget to eat sometimes. Like when I got into this really... intense real-time discussion on the forums that I now "mod" at. I typed right through lunch and until 3, when I had to go to the toilet, and right then realized that I hadn't eaten anything for 10 hours.
