I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Charlie Brown. I sometimes have the worst of luck and sometimes I'll try and do things and make a fool of myself

I don't have a dog, however (though my parents have a lot), and I don't have a crush on some random red-haired girl.

Actually, I most identify with Mafalda, a famous cartoon character, but only in South America and Spain, so it's irrelevant here. She's been considered the South American version of Charlie Brown.

This is Mafalda

She's concerned with the welfare of mankind, tells it like it is and doesn't compromise her ideals for the sake of being "liked".

In this link she says: "The bad thing about the big family of humans is that everyone wants to be the father."

Oh yes, I forgot about him! Though I have mentioned him on other, similar posts. When I was a child, I totally identified with Charlie Brown, though at the time I did not want to be that person...

Do you think Charles M. Schulz (the creator) might be an Aspie?

I think I can somewhat relate to Wittgenstein and Beethoven, but I'm not sure of this. That's the closest I will get to saying I identify with someone, especially if that someone is a great genius. Such statements seem to me extraordinarily arrogant and make me uncomfortable.

Real life: Kurt Cobain. Not the shooting-up-and-playing-with-firearms bit, but a lot of the rest of his personality. I have a bunch of other people I admire, but nobody I identify with quite that strongly.

Fictionally: Delirium from the Sandman series; in fairytales, Snow White (family baggage involving mothers and mirrors), the Little Mermaid (not really belonging in this world) and the Ugly Duckling; Carrie, Donnie Darko and Wednesday Addams. Outsider issues anyone?

I think Sara Connor in Terminator. Always having to 'survive' in the midst of immense odds in a world full of aliens.

I identify with Sid, when I'm having a good day, which is most of the time. :O)

I identify with Bulgy, when I'm grumpy.

When I was a kid I identified with Lucy in C.S. Lewis' Narnia books. I wanted to be her and find Narnia sooooo much. :D

Now I just take bits and pieces from famous writers/personalities and philosophers:

Jean-Paul Sartre
Franz Kafka
Simone de Beauvoir
Ludwig Wittgenstein
Friedrich Nietzsche
Samuel Beckett
Elie Wiesel
Simon Wiesenthal
Benazir Bhutto
Dr. Jane Goodall

I actually started a thread about this, awhile back. But I´ll mention it again, for those who didn´t read it. I discovered, in young adulthood, that I related a lot to Vincent Van Gogh. At the time, I knew nothing about, nor had ever heard of Asperger´s Syndrome. As a young adult, struggling to "find myself", I noticed that Vincent and I had many personality traits in common, as well as similar life challenges; (and we´re both involved in the arts). It is now recognized that Vincent was likely on the spectrum, probably AS. He was my special interest for a time, and it was then that I began to accept many aspects of myself which I had repressed before. My interest in him enabled me to actually like myself better.

Oh, someone mentioned Butters from South Park. I also really like that character. I think when I was a child, I was the female version of Butters.

i have got to say - i LOVE WP - for this kind of chat and exchange.
I am sitting in my pj's reading the posts of other girls who like this kind of thing.....and yeah morgana, van gogh is just beautiful. even his meltdowns were bloody great....(no pun intended.) :D[/quote

Oh, great to hear you like Van Gogh too! Have you ever read his letters to Theo? He was a pretty interesting personality. I almost forgot...Vincent and I also have the same birthday. :D

oh yes. i read a lot of the letters exchanges many years ago.
