Thanks for invite to discuss Christianity SB2. I think contemporary Christianity is so politicized and so far from Jesus that I tend to avoid discussing it. It seems to invariablely end in disagreements, no matter which angle you take. I do have a sister who is gung ho about it and we talk frequently so I don't really need an outlet.

Nothing personal. In general, I am a theist, believe in the eternality of the individual soul and am probablely overly moralistic, but I don't think God fits inside any single religion and don't consider myself a Christian.

Dear ridgerider,
i am not offended, not taken personal. Sounds like we share a common perception anyways. Any discussion would be redundant. Although i am not an athiest, i am sill working through the logic over god. a lifetime of fruitless thought.

im 51. Ten years agao i knew in my gut i'd make it to 50.. so here i am . feeling like im just drifting along now. During my pre teen yrs id have panic attacks thinking about deaath. In the last 20 ive been exposed to more death than makes any sense to me. And was primary care giver for two. in a way i found a sense of okayness with it. Like , its so natural. and i think we do see "angels" near the end.
Ive sen more than i ever thouight i would. Ive met famous people, Flip Wilson, Natalie COle , John Carradine, Leon russel, Mel Fischer.... and more. Ive sat with homeless people just to talk (no particular reason,,,,just to talk) Ive been rich and poor. , seen some pretty bizarre stuff, and some pretty cool stuff. Im kinda baffled by it all.
Sometimes i think its all a cosmic joke. Like, the gods are up there planning --lets makes so and so an alcoholic or addict and watch em try and get clean and sober. Or give a problem to anyone and watch em try and overcome it. I think aging is another cosmic joke... so, I go on... I cant give up cuz i believe i dont get to go where im not invited... (the great beyond) I f i tried to end it id screw it up. and be worse off. Hey, I do have good days too. be interesting to see how it all plays out...... :?

It's so good to see other people "my age" (42). I think we've really had it tough - the diagnosis of AS wasn't known when we were kids/adolescents and could have really used the help.

Cheers to us for not only getting through but doing a pretty good job.

Pretty new here, but 49 years clocked in the world.

Only diagnosed (formally, in Cambridge, UK) in July this year.

Have read in Science fiction, theology, philosophy, cosmology and history.
I have particular expertise in eyeballs and model railways.

I'm 37 and my husband (06xrs) is 40.
He is AS and our daughter is too.
We both look younger than our years and feel younger too. With a 4 year old, you can act silly and get away with it. The age means I don't care what other people think; more important things to do.

I am 36 2/12
I feel young, but in retrospect I have never felt my age.

Maybe that has something to do with never fitting in. Thinking back to when I was younger I always felt older than my classmates, and now I feel younger and sometimes more mature than my work mates. Maybe it is just that we think so very differently.

I noticed this thread seems to be almost all maturing GenXers, the age of my children. Are there any discussions for people over 65?

And what's it like growing up in a cultural atmosphere that's like a Mirror Universe image of mine?

Nothing specific, that I've noticed in my short time here.

I wonder what a graph would look like, with numbers plotted against age of diagnosis for AS, (with or without self-diagnosis, as preferred)

Nowadays, a peak for young children, with another smaller one for parents of young children realising they have the same, and a spread amongst older folk as the dissemination of knowledge causes re-assessment, one way or another?

Just a guess.
